  1. I have a set of D44s out of a waggy and I want to put them under my manche. Has anyone done this on here? if so what did you do for brackets? I know that TNT has a nice truss system, but nice also means 600 dollars. are there any good full bracket kits out there? did you do anything to change the bolt pattern to be able to run 5 on 4.5 wheels? Thanks.
  2. I don't like the looks of the TJ fronts either so I used 4 rear flairs.
  3. I may give this a try, I am a little hesitant because it was so hard to pull out of first gear and I don't want to be fighting the engine if I have to stop quickly. worse comes to worse I may be able to get it to one of the guys houses that lives half way and then have him trailer it up from there (saving gas and a trip out of the way). Thanks for the input guys.
  4. I have bought a few, I usually try to get them for around $10 shipped, the camper dumps cement and tow truck go for a little more.
  5. couldn't you just get another HID kit? or are the housings different in some way?
  6. have you seen these? http://norcalmr2.com/pegasus/
  7. thing is I cannot get it going. I mean it starts but I cannot get it in gear once it is started. I can push the shifter towards first but it stops before engaging. clutch pedal does nothing. if I push real hard it starts to bogs the engine and never really goes into first. with the truck off I can move the shifter around fine but started it will not allow it to go into any gear. if I start it in gear it just uses the starter to bump it forward or back.
  8. I still have the Ba10 in my truck :fs1: but I have a 98 Cherokee to do the full swap. thing is that I have my truck at my house with a now bad again slave cylinder. I need to get it up to a friends shop for the swap. is there any way to ghetto a fix together without getting to involved? I would assume that you have to pull the tranny off at least and if it comes to that I will just find a way to trailer it up.
  9. dunno if this has been on here yet http://www.ebay.com/itm/JEEP-COMANCHE-C ... 500wt_1184
  10. OK, plans are to do a 97+ swap. for the gas tank problem I plan to use an 19 gallon RCI aluminium fuel cell with this fuel ring (http://www.midwest-offroad.com/FuelCellRing.html) so I can use the stock sender. I have seen that the TJ crowd has used the 15 gallon ones with lock rings to reuse the TJ fuel sender and it sits very close to the bottom. the thing is that the 19 gallon is 12 inches high while the 15 gallon is 9 inches high. I do not have easy access to the XJ sender right now so I cannot look at it. but what would be involved in modifying the sender to reach the bottom of the tank? Looks like making a new float arm out of a small steel or aluminium rod would be pretty easy. How about the intake tube with the sock attached? is it something that I could just extend the tube down 3 inches? or can anyone think of a better way to make it work? Thanks, Jonathan
  11. probably a relay that is clicking. how long does it take the battery to die? If you have a bad battery that is not putting out enough power sometimes the relays will freak out. this just happened to my mother van, after trying to start it there would be a clicking under the dash, it was the relay for the door dinger. It would had enough power to activate but not enough to stay energized so it would be on and off creating the clicking. New battery and it is all set.
  12. googled "pvc rollbar" and this was the first video that popped up see what kind of truck he drives  it is of course not a roll bar, but not a terrible looking light, cb antenna, air horn, whatever else was on clearance at autozone bar.
  13. short somewhere in the speaker wiring? may be throwing the radio into protection mode. if you can undo all the speaker wiring and then hook just one up and see if it works, then keep doing that to all of them until one cuts off the sound. or throw an ohm meter on the speaker leads and make sure they are reading the correct ohms.
  14. so I think I am going to adapt a very similar design to this into my MJ, what do you guys think? !
  15. headliner to a pillar to cig outlet is a long run for a gps cord, they usually are not that long. you may be able to get it through the dash but the vents probably go into duct work so you wouldn't be able to get the cord through the ducts. usually the best way is to mount it in the lower left corner of the windshield and tuck it behind the dash or remove the a pillar and fish the wire to the under dash. if you would like also you can but a cig adapter and wire it into switched power under the dash so it doesn't have to come back out and go into the cig plug on the dash.
  16. nice, that's pretty awesome looking.
  17. check out pirate4x4 for other ideas, they have a few threads on flatbed pictures (not a lot of jeeps but you can get ideas.)
  18. found a few here http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz= ... 0gH-rr2MAg
  19. at a pick and pull I paid 75 for the whole header panel, 35 apiece for fenders.
  20. here is an instructable on how to remove and replace bulbs on a 97+ (if you want to see what a 97- looks like, just picture it being more boxy.) http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to- ... the-bolts/ Comanche tail light viewtopic.php?f=2&p=245095
  21. did a photo shoot with a guy from our local forum, he wanted to see how much work it would be to take and edit wheeling pics.
  22. "I lift things and I put them down" with a forklift, "things" being booze. I give a small piece of my soul to the state every day :(
  23. I have a rough country 6 inch lift, I will probably swap out the short arms for rough country long arms soon though. when they sell the truss, it is just the bare truss right? and you add all the mounts? cause on their site I got confused as to weather you add mounts to the bare truss or if the options are upgraded mounts. I am pretty sure that its bare then you add mounts but nobody that did a wright up online mentioned exactly what options they ordered.
  24. Wow, looking nice. did you do the TNT truss yourself? I have a set of Waggy 44s and was looking at the truss. when (if) you got the truss did you order all the mounts already on? or did you have to make your own mounts? I ask because a lot of sites that sell them have the price (base price?) but show the picture of a fully loaded one and it got me confused.
  25. no problem, the wiring is pretty easy, I myself just made an adapter to go in between the wiring, others have just added the side marker lights to the old wiring. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18186 viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4306&
