I know you're past this, but in case someone is searching, instead of using a puller or packing grease/bread use wet toilet paper. Wet it, stuff it in, pack with a large punch/bolt/steel rod, repeat. This method was posted by HKB3 and really works GREAT, with minimal mess.

The two large flat plugs are for switches (fog light, cargo light, auto trans power/comfort) not sure which ones, have to find the wire color codes. The two with orange/black wires and round sockets are for the light bulbs that illuminate the switch panels.

Can you shift through the gears when the engine is off?
