Cool... Let me know. I don't know about any differences. This one is out of a 1990. Congrats on getting married this Friday! :clapping: I also have the front shaft and a front axle as well I'll sell cheap. (3.07:1) Linkage, the whole nine yards. I'm parting out a 1990 XJ if you need anything...

Looks good. Very clean.

I've got one I'll sell you with and NP231 attached already and a spare NP231. I'll include the control module. $175 + Shipping. It's covered with oil and gunk as my truck used to leak from everywhere. It shifted good when I pulled it. Converted to manual. Let me know. Mike.

Hope I didn't answer any wrong. :dunno: I go over there because I also have a TJ. I also use their classifieds. When I answer Comanche section questions, I usually (don't always remember) point them over here at the end of what I say. Over there, I'm 97_4popper. If I steer someone wrong, feel free to smack the back of my head. :thwak:

How do you identify it?
-
I thought mine was out of balance too as I modified it when I changed from auto to 5sp. It turned out to be wheels out of balance. Make sure that your wheels/tires are balanced 1st. Good Luck.

Still need them Rears!

Don't have one, but you've peaked my curiosity. What for?

Sounds like you may have a blown head gasket. or worse. Worse would be a cracked or warped head. Good Luck. -
Wanted XJ or MJ Parts or Whole......trade offer in SE
Dadinator replied to Jeep Driver's topic in Wanted
I don't want your rifle, (sorry), but I do have a 90 cherokee that I'm parting out. Ad on here and on jeepforum.com. what do you need? -
Oops. Didn't see the date of the original post.

IF I ever did a v8 swap , I would totally do a 5.0L ford. Small engine, reliable, I've owned several 5.0 Mustangs. The aftermarket is ridiculous for them.

Put the front skid plate back on yesterday after a good cleaning. Lots of grease/dirt/grime build up on that sucker. And the new wheels/tires fixed the wobble problem, so I guess my bastardized drive shaft is OK. :clapping: Decided not to lift it as I like the stance the way it is. The 31's don't rub except on the passenger side they rub the lower control arm at full lock. Front of the truck is slightly bent from one of the accidents it had in its past. I'll work on that. Sold the front lift springs and rear blocks from the XJ on JeepForum. If anyone needs any parts, check out my 1990 XJ parting out in the classifieds here and over there.

I used RadiatorBarn.com for my TJ a few years ago. Good prices. The radiator is still on the TJ with no issues.

Would either one of those make it only die when cold??? I actually replaced it first along with the throttle body from my donor XJ. Though they could be bad too.
-
So, the MJ dies when cold. After it's warmed up, it's OK. It starts back up. Particularly when its cold and you go down my long driveway, in 1st or 2nd, then get to the bottom and push in the clutch and dies. Starts back up OK. I cleaned the IAC and throttle body. Any other ideas?

I need the fender flare brackets for the rear flares. Particularly the passenger side. Mine are shot.

Pics, or it didn't happen... :D

86 Comanche Project Cinderella
Dadinator replied to SGTJHALL's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Not a dig, but I have some questions... Why did you want a 86? Seems it would have been easier to start with a MJ that already had a 4.0 since the firewall is different on the 86's. Also, was wondering you said that you were going to put a "full 4.5 inch lift" when it already has a SOA. That should have netted you about 5.5 already, no? Just curious. Nice looking MJ and have fun. :wrench: -
I could sell you one for a 90 4.0...

:agree:

I don't think I ever posted on this thread... Now that mine is starting to look kinda good, here it is: Check out The Family Truck. Click on the link in my sig to get the whole picture...

Amazing! Gave the mule some Gambler rims that I scored off of JeepForum. Tires are leftovers from when I had my Ranger. Then gave it a bath. I don't know how long it's been since it had a bath, but it's been quite a while. :dunno: Even cleaned the inside of the windows. :ack: Looks like I got a different truck, but I assure you, it's the same one.

Only 1 MJ. My father-in-law bought it new in 1990. I bought it from him for my son in 2004. I've had it just for this year, but I've worked on it for years. It has over 200K on it. I don't drive it much. Am fixing it up. And 19 MJ's in 3 years???? Dude, you're obsessed. :D
