17" Rogue Rims On 88 Comanche
MJRemi replied to Big By Fahr's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The Charger/Magnum/300 rims will fit but are not exact bolt pattern distance. They are off by a few mm. I don't know if that has any ill effect regarding long term use, or not. The Dodge Caliber has stock 17" & 18" with the 5x4.5" bolt pattern but I haven't checked the backspacing for compatibility yet. If they work, I'm going to lean towards those for the correct bolt pattern. -
Street Comanches are from 1987 and 4.0 w/ 5spd. 2wd.

Charcoal Canister Question
MJRemi replied to MmMBurritos's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The Purge outlet on all my MJs has been a non-connected stub. In fact, it does not have an opening so why it says purge is dumbfounding. The Tank inlet runs to the fuel tank to capture fumes and any possible excess fuel that might slosh through the tanks top outlet. The larger outlet runs to the airbox via the hard plastic line along the firewall. The entire length of both hoses requires fuel rated hose due to the possibility of liquid fuel contacting any portion of the hose lines. I know this because I was dinged for it during a smog test on a previous MJ and had to replace 12" of hose from the canister to the hard line. There is also a vent hose at the bottom of the canister that vents out near the UCA. -
I think that tank came on all LWB MJs but not positive.

I really love the tail lights. Florida must be pretty lacks in the vehicle safety laws. In CA that truck would be pulled over every day for inspection and probably impounded.
-
No, I don't see anything like that.

I have one from a 86 2.5 but I don't know if it's compatible. If it is, I'll sell it cheap.

About two months ago I bought a used 2011 Dodge Journey BECAUSE it had the 3.6, thinking this was one of the best modern engines. Within a couple weeks I was experiencing idle and surging issues and the engine light was on. The problem turned out to be exactly as described above. They had the vehicle for four days before it was "fixed". The car had 19K on the odometer and even now I get sporadic surging and idle fluctuations after short trips. I should have done more research before buying.

First of all, BUY IT!! The rest we can work out together. The truck is basically a Cherokee from the cab forward. There will be some minor differences in the floor pan but nothing major. The rest of the truck is Comanche but with so few kms, it should be in good condition. Interior rust under the carpet is common but overall, these are great trucks. Buy it, take pictures, and post on the site. The members here are willing and able to help you with future questions and concerns.

You can also use a AMC 20 rear from a '86 Comanche. Their strong and had.10 gears and are direct bolt in. Looks like this.. For some reason, the posting won't show I typed.10 in the line above. Must be a glitch. Tried editing 3 times. -
I'll send a PM your way.

Dammit Don, I wasn't wearing my sunglasses. You should have warned us!

If you can afford to spend just a few bucks more, you can swap in a external slave cylinder and bellhousing to avoid this issue in the future. Here is a write-up from JeepForum I found to be helpful. I think another CC member linked it in their write-up but I can't remember which one. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/leans-ax-15-external-slave-swap-pics-965067/

A pulley puller tool from Autozone or similar parts store. They charge a rental fee and then refund it when you you return the tool.
