I also understand I should upgrade to the AX-15 but I would like to drive the truck to collect those parts. It doesn't seem like many manual transmission Jeeps made it to Iowa.
-
Any idea what brand it was from Napa? I know they sell Luks. Luks also sells the master cylinder and the slave cylinder comes early the clutch kit.
-
I would love to have an external slave but it's a peugeot and from what I can tell there's no external swap.

Wondering if anyone has had a good experience with any of the aftermarket options available? I am going to replace it all. Master cylinder, slave cylinder, and the actual clutch. I have read the horror stories all over the internet about the AM parts but the OE are gone from what I can tell. The truck still has the BA10 that shifts just fine. This truck is a DD it will see snow and a little mud here and there but no extreme use. I'm replacing it because it slips and the normal the master cylinder is leaking. Just looking to see if anyone has had good luck out there!!

3" Lift kit w/o Add a leaf
JMO413 replied to Chief Falling Rock's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I just went through this, the truck I bought had a cracked rear spring. The only lift I could find with rear springs with was a 4.5" from Rusty's Off Road. I am pretty happy with the lift and the quality. I did have to buy sway bar links and longer brake lines to make it all work. Still happy with the out come. -
It all depends on what you looking for. Rock Auto is super cheap but a little slow on shipping. Summit racing carries most of the stuff Crown makes and shops quickly. I like to find the part number I'm looking for and then Google that part number just to see who all shows it available and check pricing. I've sold parts for almost 20 years so I might go a little overboard.

I was trying to use an ink pen and it apparently was to big. Nail worked perfect!

Installed a new fuel pressure regulator and the truck finally runs correctly. It's amazing what the correct fuel pressure will do!!!

So new fuel pressure fixed the problem. It has 31 PSI with the vacuum line connected and just shy of 40 with the vacuum line disconnected. She finally runs right. I am actually kind of impressed with the way it runs. The newer ECM and 4 hole injectors finally work as designed. Thanks everyone for the help work this. -

I plumbed the gauge in at the fuel filter. I will get a check valve also. That makes sense. I ordered a regulator it will be here tomorrow. Hopefully I can get time after work to install it. -

Just trying to get an extra opinion but doesn't the fuel pressure regulator make more sense. The fuel pressure drops to 0 as soon as you shut it off. And it drops to zero after it primes. Also the fuel pump held pressure when I tested it at the pump. -

Before I pulled the fuel pump I checked pressure at the fuel filter. It's over 40 psi. I guess I need a new pressure regulator. -

The fuel pump is the only thing the PO had touched that I haven't redone yet. That is about to change I have a whole 18 Psi work the fuel pressure regulator hooked up or not still the same. It will kick up to 20 if you bypass the ballast resistor. Check the injectors with a stehoscope and they are all pulsing. He used old cracked fuel line at the filter. Hopefully the same issue in the tank. The fuel pressure also drops as soon as you shut it off. I mean straight to 0. -
Do you still have everything available? I sent you an email through the website.

ECM reading move erratically while watching on scanner
JMO413 replied to JMO413's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I pulled the disc out of the scanner and now it reads right. It still doesn't run quite right. It hesitates when you push on the accelerator. Going to get a fuel pressure gauge tomorrow to check the fuel pressure again. Yes it ran great right before the fuel pump kept running. -
ECM reading move erratically while watching on scanner
JMO413 replied to JMO413's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So I had a little time today. Pulled the ECM out to put in the old one. The real trip is that the scanner fluctuates the same way without a ECM attached to the truck. With the old ECM installed the scanner reads the same way. The truck idles well but that's about it. Not sure where to go now? -

All grounds at the dipstick are shiny and oxgaurd applied and tip 6 is done. I have done tips 1-6,8,9,11,18,19,22, 25,29,31,& 37. This has all been done in the last two months or so that I have owned the truck.
