Anybody running 12 hole injectors?
JMO413 replied to WahooSteeler's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I did the O2 sensor first. Mine was game over, it didn't ever go to closed loop. Drove like a 30 year old truck after that. Then I did the 746 injectors or the PCM next not sure. The PCM seemed to help the idle, it seemed smoother. The injectors make a very noticeable difference. They are awesome! Drove better than ever. Then I did the bored throttle body from Meanlemons. That is a game changer IMHO. Truck runs like a scalded dog. Now to see what indexing the distributor and new wires will do. -
Love the blue and gray interior! What color is the exterior going to be?

Anybody running 12 hole injectors?

I put the 746's in mine and have been very happy with them. A little better idle and throttle response. One of my factory injectors was split and leaking. I would definitely buy then again. Well worth the time and money. -
I am one of those people that like snow. I would like to agree that winter can be over now! It has been colder and more snow this year than I can ever remember. 30 with some sun would be a nice day at this point.

Glad you made it. Looks like it was probably a fun drive home. Can't beat free plywood.

Frame rail crunched in collision
JMO413 replied to zithy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If the rail was replaced at a factory point you shouldn't loose any strength. Any added frame reinforcement would then just add to the strength. The down fall off a proper rail replacement is the cost. -

That is extensive damage. You might be able to straighten it but it would be weak. That is why they quoted a rail replacement. No matter what you do it will be expensive. If you party it out and add that to the $2400 you should be able to buy a decent MJ. -
Looks like a good starting point. As for the oil leak I would. Start with the good blue Fel Pro gasket on the valve cover. It's worth the money. The oil filter adapter has 3 o-rings that are cheap to replace also. I put off pulling my fuse block but now I wish I had done it first. Hope this helps.

I agree with Pete start with Cruisers tips. If you have questions or need parts ask here you will be pleasantly surprised.

Welcome to joy of Renix Jeeps. Cruisers to are the best start. Get a good multimeter and start testing.

Looks good! Nice work. -
Yeah I believe I did. But I have thought that before. It worked right three or four times before. I don't understand how it ever shut off. Hopefully this is fixed and stays fixed.

In the end this was all a wire behind the fuse block died to the fuel pump wire. Just updating in case someone reads this later. The orange wire is the fuel pump. The red is a constant at the fuse block.
-
So I finally pulled the fuse block out. Holy crap that black stuff is nasty. I was hoping to find why my fuel pump wants to run constantly sometimes if it feels like it. Not only did I find the problem I also was pleasantly surprised how well the fuse block looked. The clutch master cylinder was leaking before I got it I believe and for who knows how long.I found the power to the fuel pump was crossed to a constant in the fuse block. After three hours I finally got the connections cleaned and the black tar out. Those were the only two wires that weren't in good shape. It's back together and only runs when it's supposed to. Fuel pump wire. The constant. I found the Napa coolant tank cap I had bought. I really need to clean the work bench! The Napa cap fits better then the one that came in the new tank. I also changed the bulb in the clock. I had never seen a 74 light bulb before.I That thing is tiny. I can finally actually see the time. I do believe for the first time since I have owned this truck everything finally works. It only took me 9 months. I know something else is going to break tomorrow but that's tomorrow hopefully. I guess I should put the floors in the XJ so I can do floors in her.

That is a very nice truck you've got there. Going to make any modifications or just drive it?

I just read through your whole build. You do amazing work. That push button start is wicked. Can't wait for the next update.
