Rust wise this thing looks pretty good. How were the rocker panels and cab corners? Us guys in the rust belt will pay good money for those! Hoping you nabbed the easy parts, tail lights, etc.

How nice does it need to be?

All of the factory on/off toggle switches that I've seen have the same p/n on the actual switch. They should all be rated for the same amperage.

Does the fridge run on 12V?

I wonder what a Carfax report on that one would look like? At work, we had a mirror replaced on one of our trucks years ago. Got a good deal on the glass with Arabic writing so the boss went that route instead of paying high dollar for the English version...

This really saddens me. My 10 month old daughter will most likely be one of the few in her graduating class that knows how to drive a manual, I vow to teach her well.

My '88 came without, my '90 came with. Removed it from the '90 to simplify the mess under the hood, it wasnt working anyway. Swapped in all non AC parts, including HVAC box. The only way you can tell it had it is by the drain hole still being open in the firewall.

Both of my trucks run the Renix setup, I wouldn't have it any other way. I know I'm the minority here, I guess it's all about preference... I like sensors and better mpg!

That's what I need to know. I haven't bought it yet, so I need to make sure I'm not going to loose money on the deal... Plans changed, I won't make it to that yard anymore this weekend, but when I do I will ask how much they want for it and we can go from there. Are you looking for visors too?

What's a headliner worth to you? I hope to go to a yard on Saturday and I think a truck there had a decent one in it... Shipping would be a VERY BIG BOX, and VERY EXPENSIVE, do you have a preferred method of shipping it?

Another thought. If you haven't already, watch for some of the sales brochures for the Comanches on eBay, at flea markets, etc. If you are really looking to spend a chunk of cash like this on an MJ, you should look through them and get familiar with what offerings were there from the factory. In my opinion, a true $5K MJ should be something sought after and it should hold its value VERY WELL, even if it is used and driven often. Something of lesser worth, you are just emptying your pockets and lining someone else's when/if the day comes when you need to sell it...

Oil pressure gauge is reading wrong in the photo of the cluster... engine is running, tach shows it. If that's a $5.5K truck, most guys on here ought to be able to sell theirs for much more. I'd go $2500 on that one AT MOST. I paid $500 and $675 for each of mine. They needed work, don't get me wrong... I have the same thoughts as Minuit regarding a $5K Comanche... Had a '96 with the 2.2L in high school. It ate head gaskets like crazy, replaced the head gasket every 30K. It was decent mpg, a fun little truck. Drove it into college, bought an MJ and quickly sold it!

I have an extra '87 4x2 manual. It's not a new repop like the one on eBay. It's original, complete with water damage and sun fading, but you can still open and read every page. $10 shipped. PM me if you are interested.
