  1. So how long before you remove those wonderful aftermarket graphics on the side? Lol Glad you got it!
  2. Light duty. No way I’d ever drop that much $$$ on something like that. Seems like a childish attempt at moving snow around to me!
  3. Are you after stock ones or aftermarket?
  4. What kind of parts are you looking for?
  5. I see a clutch master cylinder under the hood... I wonder why it is listed as only a 4 spd?
  6. Knock. It’s the proper way to start any conversation on a stranger’s property. “Hi, I noticed that you have a Comanche. There aren’t many of them around. I have one too. - Do you mind if I look at yours for a minute to see how it’s similar and different than mine so I can learn more about them? I promise I won’t touch anything, just look.” My opinion - Anyone who says “no” to the above should sell the MJ they own because they own it for the wrong reasons. There is no harm in looking and not touching. Knocking is how I came to be an MJ owner with my ‘88 back in 2005.
  7. $6K 2wd, White with Red Interior
  8. Do you want/need more renix cores? I know of quite a few in yards...
  9. Those look like MJ lights, just pushed out from the bed... Don’t know about you guys, but the flames on the for sale ad really does it for me!
  10. Sweet rig, yes more progress pictures please! Thanks for sharing!
  11. Longbed or shortbed?
  12. Sending PM

    I'm back!

Welcome back! I was here before you, went on hiatus (married, house, kids, etc) before you got here and now I’m back as well. Managed to keep both my trucks in the limbo thankfully :) Check this out, some things have changed in the MJ world while you were away:

Posted this in the wrong year, Pete can you more easily move to the 1987 folder? My bad.

Good to know, ‘86 was a guess based on what I could see. Door information was no longer readable and I could not get that hood open to look further into it...

1987 Jeep Comanche 4.0L / BA-10 / ? / ? / ? / LWB Build date: ? Current location: Watertown, WI Status: JUNKYARD Notes:. LAREDO package with red paint, tan interior. Super rusty, Had a black fiberglass topper topper that is no longer usable, cracked. Engine intact with lots of good parts. Hood hinges removed, so just open it from the hinge side and pop open the front latches for access. Sliding rear window intact with the latch. Had a cargo light and switch which I snagged. Tail lights gone. Tailgate there and it has the chrome handle still on it, I’ll snag that someday. Been taking little random parts from this one for many years. Some dummy needed to get something from the rear axle, the pass axle shaft was left in and slid part of the way out, axle shaft is well rusted now. People like that annoy me... I wish I could have owned this one when it was new! 10 slot grille has imperfections, not worth pulling. Rear bumper is gone. Painted fender flares are cracked up and not worth pulling either (sorry Pete). Current owner: JACKS AUTO RANCH

1986 Jeep Comanche ? / ? / ? / ? / ? / LWB Build date: ? Current location: Watertown, WI Status: JUNKYARD Notes:. White paint, Burgundy interior with a tan bench installed. Could not open the hood. The truck sits in a very wet area of the yard and I did not have the correct boots to stay there long to learn more about it. Windshield smashed out of it. Tail lights gone. I am particularly interested if this is a 2.5L truck as I am guessing the motor and other items are all still under the hood. I could not open it up so I’m hoping others gave up on it as well... if it is, I’ll return when things dry out and make sure I get that hood open. Current owner: JACKS AUTO RANCH

1986 Jeep Comanche 2.5L / ? / ? / 2wd / ? / LWB Build date: ? Current location: Watertown, WI Status: JUNKYARD Notes:. Silver paint, Burgundy interior. Has an aluminum topper that is still usable in my opinion. Engine removed. Column shift. Had a cargo light and switch which I snagged. Tail lights also gone. Current owner: JACKS AUTO RANCH
  19. I also swapped on a bored renix throttle body that I got from MeanLemons. It is well worth the investment in my opinion, there is a noticeable improvement in the truck’s performance for sure!
  20. Recently did some work to this old truck. I have been driving it weekly for the last few years so it’s been getting oil changes periodically and other necessary maintenance. Now it is time to re-address some items that I’ve already done with it as these miles have been taking their toll. So I guess I can update this thread for the first time in 7 or so years... This past few weekends I replaced the front brakes and re-packed the wheel bearings. Both sides were in pretty rough shape brake wise, drivers side had the pad worn completely off. It was time for sure. All those years ago I did the slotted rotors thing, decided it wasn’t worth doing them again this time.
  21. Finally got around to installing the bored out one on my ‘90 renix 4.0. Very happy with the results! THANK YOU!

It is rough. Rust wise it is better than most around the area. But it is mangled up pretty badly. Both ends have been backed into and are bent up badly. I’ve thought about getting it to use parts for mine. The “tube” center section in mine where the ball hitches can bolt to has begun to rot from the inside out. The shell on mine is still straight. This one still has a decent center section, worth grafting into my bumper at least. Again, it’s been there for a long time and I don’t see it moving anytime soon. When the time comes that I do the resto on my ‘90 I’ll decide how to move forward on the rear bumper repair.

Yep, this one is in the classics part of the yard so it won’t be moving anywhere anytime soon. It has been there for over 4 years now and I think I’m the only one who has done anything to it for the last few years. If I get the chance to nab those items next time I’m there I will. Funny thing, it is 4 days older than me. My bday is 9-8-85!

I’ve got to go back to that area later this fall and I could try to get them then. The bench seat might be a tough one to fit for the ride home. Might just go for the cover and the bottom foam if the foam is in good shape... this is about 2 hours from my home, so planned trips for work and lunch hours in the yard are how I get there...
