Where do you keep finding these rust free XJs? Are you bringing them up from down south or are you just lucky? Also, if you don't mind me asking, what is your typical purchase price vs sale price? I am curious as this looks like it could be a decent side "job" for extra cash.
The thread that you posted above was a SWB truck. I would doubt that Chrysler would have a number in their system, just like there is not known number of Laredos, Pioneers, Eliminators, ect.
There were no SWB MJ MTs. There seem to be quite a few out there. Your best bet would be to go through @fiatslug87's registry update, that would give you a fraction of them, but there is no way to know for sure.
For an auto, I'd recommend a GM 700R4. Its a 4 speed auto with overdrive, but isn't electronically controlled.
For a manual, I'd say AX-15 or NV3500, or, if money is no object, T-56.
I did not know that! I might have to give that a shot. Thanks!
Please let me know if you do and how much you’d want for it. I haven’t considered making one because I don’t have a ton of time right now and want to get this truck road legal before I sell it.
My Ugly Truckling has has no fuel filler neck rubber hoses and I also need the taillight harness, just the harness that is at the back of the bed. If you have any of these parts, please let me know.
That is probably the easiest route, yes. @kansashogan, what do you have for gauges in your V8 truck? @88mjsally, did you keep the stock gauges in your truck?
@Rusty Jeep, here is a link to 88mjsally's build thread:
