  1. @Pete M, can you take care of this guy? I’m not sure if he is real or not. Until then, nobody click his link.

    MJ’s Value

In the rust belt, you could probably get $4,500-$7,000 for it, depending on your patience, if the paint is in good shape. Many of us up here would rather do a 4.0 and 4wd swap than deal with rust.
  3. Shoot, I really want to try driving a 4 cylinder now. Even my 4.0 on a 3" lift will run down Camaros and Mustangs in the corners.

    Front Fender Flares

Valance has been found. Still ISO front flares.
  5. I’m going to pursue mechanical engineering to later go in to the automotive industry. I would love to design and build engine performance parts (ideally 4.0/4.2 parts because I have a test bed for those).
  6. It’s looking like this is probably it’s last winter that it will have to be tucked in. This time next year, I should be down in AZ for school.
  7. IMHO, I wouldn’t run any of those modifications. The truck doesn’t look tall enough to need steps, the scoops will probably look cheap parts store ones when installed, and the visor just seems like a could spot for water leaks. You can check out eaglescout526’s truck (link is in his signature) for pro tires of a freshly painted Colorado red truck, or see pictures of his truck as the December 2019 MJOTM.
  8. I am putting an OEM front bumper back on my truck, so I need new flares and valance to replace the flares that I cut. I am looking for very good ones, and I want them to be the raw plastic finish. I would be willing to trade my trimmed flares if someone is looking to go that route.

Best MJ story- When I first got it it ran on 5 cylinders and I took it through the mountains with 4 friends doors off rowing gears trying to keep momentum. Every turn when I let off it would back fire a huge fireball through the straight pipe (muffler blew up from previous backfires). It was warm when we left Clemson, but got real chilly up at Sassafras mountain. The truckstruggled, we were miserable, but it was still a blast. CC is Awesome! Why? tons of information and community.Whether it’s Comanche related or not. I really really enjoy seeing other young guys building these trucks. Congrats, @SatiricalHen! As always, if you want to see your truck as MJOTM, send me a PM.
  10. It would look good in your low mileage truck!
  11. I stripped that one down and it got crushed. That car gave up its engine for the current Eagle.
  12. Thank you
  13. Was it fairly reasonable to ship?
  14. Just a photo dump. The snow picture was right after Christmas. The others are after I got the car 5 years ago. When we were rescuing it. It coming home the first time. Parked out back while finding a parts car. Different wheels and tires while waiting to find a parts car. The Eagle with our old 59 Chevy Wagon. It looks like this was during the engine swap, the hood is off as you can see the hood hinges. The parts car. The post-Christmas snow. This happened while I was at work (yes, the same place I got the car from). Whenever I go to work, this car parks about 100 feet from the spot I rescued it from 5 years ago. 4” of snow in a few hours was not fun.
  15. Neat old picture of my Eagle at where I now work from many years ago, either right before it was out in the barn, or right after it was pulled out.
  16. I’d settle for either style, but if I had the choice, I’d go with the AMC one.
  17. Thank you, after seeing that picture, I don’t think that is the style I am after now. I don’t think it would suit my truck.
  18. I’ve seen that, and I do like it, but I’m not sure that is what I am after. Thank you.
  19. We don't have a tubing bender, but I'll keep it in mind. That is crazy how much it has gone up. This Tomken one is for the Jeep bumper, you can get it both ways. Thank you for the honest review.

    Electric Camper

I wonder how it would behave in ice and snow.... it seems like it would be very easy for the tow rig to go around if it hit ice while cornering (that already is easy enough). I think this definitely could work though.
  21. Because I am replacing my winch bumper with an OEM style one, I want to put a grille guard on my truck for some added protection. So far, I have only found two aftermarket options that work with an OEM front bumper, The Tomken piece and an Aries Automotive piece (along with some near-copies of the Aries). Tomken: https://www.quadratec.com/products/72013_850.htm#&gid=2&pid=4 Aries: https://www.morris4x4center.com/aries-automotive-grille-guard-for-86-00-jeep-xj-carbon-steel-semi-gloss-black-powdercoat.html Does anyone have any experience with either of these? I think I prefer the Tomken one, but I haven't seen any images of one on an 84-96 front end, only on the 97-01 front ends. I'm thinking that the Aries is a little too modern looking for me. I would rather run an AMC-era OEM brush guard or a Warn Trans4mer piece, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to find either for a reasonable price in decent condition (at least that I have found so far).
  22. Heat the plastic that the rivers go through and pry on it very carefully and it’ll pop out. That’s how I swapped my VINs when I changed dashes.
  23. Good looking truck! I visited my aunt and uncle out in Missoula once, it is a very pretty area.
  24. I've tried joining other forums before, namely the AMC Eagle forum, but the layout just did not seem as user-friendly as CC is. Not to mention, the guys on here are all pretty good guys.
  25. Congrats! We love that you are doing this too!
