Based on the fact it is an 88 with a 4.0, it would have came with the horrid Peugeot BA10-5. In 34 years though, it may have been swapped for a (most likely case) much stronger AX-15
  2. These trucks for the most part seem to have sold as pretty low option work trucks. It may take some time to find one with an auto. The other reason that I think these trucks are so expensive is because the owners like them. They tow very well, they haul well, great visibility, and their unique. I know I have personally turned down $15k for mine.
  3. I have a very nice used solid rear window in WI.
  4. In WI, odometer readings are exempt from the title status once the vehicle is 10 years old. As long as I disclose that the mileage shown on the odometer is not actual mileage, I will be fine. I also never plan on selling this truck.
  5. That thing is really, really cool! Looks like it cuts fairly well too.
  6. I think it was time for new shocks. It even seems to sit higher now, and it rides great in comparison.
  7. I agree! I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes.

    Moving Again!

I’d do what Pete recommends and get a dolly with trailer brakes. I’ve found that is the sketchiest part when towing with these trucks.
  9. Thank you! I like how small it is!
  10. I do have a sport bar, that might be a good spot too.
  11. The side of the trans tunnel does sound like a pretty good spot. That sounds like a fantastic spot!
  12. No, just in the show.
  13. I need ideas for locations to mount a fire extinguisher in my truck for the AMC Homecoming show in July. I have a bench seat and would like it to be accessible from the driver seat. Also, if anyone has suggestions for the location for one in my Eagle, I’m game to hear those too.
  14. No, it’s not. I changed the odometer to show the miles on the transmission once I got it rebuilt when I swapped to my full cluster since it would have needed to be changed anyways.
  15. Oh, and I’m doing CC as my club affiliation.
  16. Everything for the regear is here, now I just need to find a 3.55 D44 or Chrysler 8.25 out of an XJ. It’s harder than I thought, but I have a few leads.
  17. It is sooo much quieter with exhaust now. Other than that, no more progress.
  18. Oh, and all 4s on the odometer.
  19. It is running, driving, and mowing now. I still don’t have the slots mounted yet. The spark plug was pretty gross, I’m surprised it ran before cleaning it.
  20. It made the All Things Jeep Comanche FB page.
  21. For those interested, here is the registration form: https://kenoshahistorycenter.org/2022 Kenosha Homecoming Registration Form.pdf And a schedule: https://kenoshahistorycenter.org/2022 Kenosha Homecoming Event Schedule.pdf I will probably be there Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. I will also likely have shade near my Comanche and Eagle.

  23. June 2022-The Silver Star (2.0) Owned by @acfortier, with some build credit to @kryptronic! Build Thread- Previous thread: Year/Model - 1991 Jeep Comanche Pioneer Drivetrain- 4.0L HO, AX-15, 4x4, D30/D35 3.07 gears. Planning on swapping in a D44 with 3.55 gears (already purchased) and re-gearing front to match. Cooling- Stock Electrical/Ignition- Stock, relocated ignition coil to firewall Suspension/Steering- Stock for now. Planning on replacing rear leafs with MT ones from General Spring, new shocks all around Interior- Full black interior, not fully installed. Need a carpet or vinyl floor, and a few more trim pieces installed. Brakes- Rear LSV deleted, replaced with YJ unit by kryptronic. Have a double booster from a XJ ready to install. Lighting- Stock halogens, installed some aftermarket YJ fog lights on the front bumper, wired them up. Rewired headlight harness with kit from eBay. Exterior- Still the original paint! Plans are to repaint with same color, eventually. Wheel & Tires- Turbines, refinished and powdercoated silver. Tires are 235/75R15 General Grabber ATX. Misc- Exhaust was completely refreshed by kryptronic Best MJ story- Had an 88 in high school, was one of my first vehicles. Always turned heads, was a great little truck. I stupidly sold it after doing a ton of work to it (young kid, dumb decision) and regretted it ever since. Still get lots of people asking about it, where I got it, plans for it. I'm sure I have a better story from my HS days, but I can't remember! CC is Awesome! Why? Great group of guys. I've been on plenty of forums where folks love to point the finger, be defensive, etc.--nothing like that here. Folks can ask a question and not be ridiculed
  24. Geez! Yeah, that makes sense. If you change your mind or can get there, I will have shade near my Comanche.
