  1. I took a grey dash and made it dark blue. I did 2 light coats, 1 medium coat, and 2 heavy coats. You can’t tell it hasn’t always been blue and it has been that way for a year now.
  2. This is where the Comanche and other projects and parts will be living while I’m away to college. It’s 40’ long, 9.5’ high, and 8.5’ wide. I will build some shelving inside it and paint the exterior grey at some point.
  3. New headliner installed. I did a grey foam backed fabric, much like the original, then covered that with the fabric shown. I wanted something brighter and mildly patriotic without doing an American flag. Plus, it’s a little weird.
  4. I loved all those pictures! Using these trucks makes all the work worth it.

Best MJ story- I had an MJ when I was in college and blew up the 4.0 that was in it. I held on to it for a bit and sold it like an idiot. Well I had a YJ and the a TJ. I sold the TJ to fund this project because I wanted something different than the typical Wranglers you see on the trails. So after two years of grinding on this thing it is ready for it's maiden voyage and I couldn't be more happier. CC is Awesome! Why? I love all the information that is on this forum. Plus it is awesome to see all the people thatlove these little trucks as much as I do.
  6. You could say the old headliner was pretty bad.
  7. Well, the rear window is in. Now I decided to pull the headliner and redo that. Some of you Eagle eyed people will notice that I had an OEM slider and I’m swapping to a CRL slider. This is for a couple of reasons. 1. The center isn’t plexiglass. 2. It latches. 3. Larger window opening for more airflow. 4. It has a superior design to help keep water out.
  8. It all started with pulling the rear window in order to fix the small leak when it rains really hard. Naturally, it spiraled into changing to the ACC carpet from the POS ACC vinyl floor. I still have to get the rear window sealed up and install the b-pillar panels, but don’t worry, I’m supposed to take the truck camping tomorrow morning. The carpet fits soooooo much better than the vinyl did. And I just cleaned the vinyl 11 days before removing it and this is how filthy it came out. The vinyl is definitely not worth the money.
  9. As far as I know, yes. Makes sense when you think about it. The column shift was for the more stripped down trucks, so very few would have been optioned with a full cluster, so Jeep probably decided it wasn’t worth it at the time. Then the police XJ came along and they needed it.
  10. I will be down in Tucson this fall. I won’t be bringing my Comanche down yet, but an AZ MJ meetup would be fun!

Based on the fact it is an 88 with a 4.0, it would have came with the horrid Peugeot BA10-5. In 34 years though, it may have been swapped for a (most likely case) much stronger AX-15
  12. These trucks for the most part seem to have sold as pretty low option work trucks. It may take some time to find one with an auto. The other reason that I think these trucks are so expensive is because the owners like them. They tow very well, they haul well, great visibility, and their unique. I know I have personally turned down $15k for mine.
  13. I have a very nice used solid rear window in WI.
  14. In WI, odometer readings are exempt from the title status once the vehicle is 10 years old. As long as I disclose that the mileage shown on the odometer is not actual mileage, I will be fine. I also never plan on selling this truck.
  15. That thing is really, really cool! Looks like it cuts fairly well too.
  16. I think it was time for new shocks. It even seems to sit higher now, and it rides great in comparison.
  17. I agree! I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes.

    Moving Again!

I’d do what Pete recommends and get a dolly with trailer brakes. I’ve found that is the sketchiest part when towing with these trucks.
  19. Thank you! I like how small it is!
  20. I do have a sport bar, that might be a good spot too.
  21. The side of the trans tunnel does sound like a pretty good spot. That sounds like a fantastic spot!
  22. No, just in the show.
  23. I need ideas for locations to mount a fire extinguisher in my truck for the AMC Homecoming show in July. I have a bench seat and would like it to be accessible from the driver seat. Also, if anyone has suggestions for the location for one in my Eagle, I’m game to hear those too.
  24. No, it’s not. I changed the odometer to show the miles on the transmission once I got it rebuilt when I swapped to my full cluster since it would have needed to be changed anyways.
