  1. Yes I did! More pictures will be coming as the day goes on.
  2. Made it to Kenosha. There was a cruise in tonight that we went to. I drove the Comanche about 200 miles and got 20 mpg. Not bad for 4.10s at 70-75 mph. I have seen pictures of a tan Sportruck and a red Pioneer, but haven’t seen any others yet. I’ll post up some pics though.
  3. You’ve convinced me. Go for it
  4. That seems like a pretty solid price. I wonder if they are galvanized like the factory ones are. I believe these cars are galvanized from the door handles down or something like that. I know they are mostly galvanized.
  5. It’s almost ready for Kenosha, which is a good thing because I leave for there tomorrow. It just needs a wash and I want to figure out a couple of rattles.
  6. I leave for the Kenosha AMC Homecoming show tomorrow. Do I have this car ready? Of course not. But it’s getting close. It just has a couple of noises I want figured out and then I have to wash it.
  7. The biggest thing to be aware of is that there is virtually no aftermarket support for these. As hard as it is finding parts for our Comanches, the Eagle is that much more difficult because AMC didn’t make a ton of Hornets, Spirits, or Concords which the Eagle is based off of either. And all of my other quotes for the transmission rebuild were over a grand. Again, these are 36 year old parts for a car that most people haven’t seen for 15+ years and forgot they existed. The parts supply and the people that can fix these cars is dwindling. With all of that being said, I love my Eagle and cannot recommend them enough. In fact, if you get it, I have a whole pile of parts that I will give you a good deal on if you want.
  8. Do the KSuspension headlight relay harness and a set of Hella H4 housings and bulbs. They will be halogens that are comparable to Wrangler JK LEDs.
  9. Oof, she’s not too good under there. For what it’s worth, it cost me $900 to get my TF998 (which is what came in 6cyl Eagles) in my 86 Eagle rebuilt. And then to fix the front frame area, the leaf spring mounts, and the rocker, you are probably looking at minimum another $1500. So if you could get the car for $1600, that puts you at $4,000 which is about what a driver quality Eagle is worth from what I’ve seen.
  10. It looks like the front bumper is pushed out like it has a hidden winch
  11. I finally remembered to get the pictures. These are in front of and behind the rear wheel. The black I have on there is rust converter to try to hold it until I have time to address it. These cars rust really bad in this spot. My car is from AL and has see very few WI winters and this is how rusty it is. It is fixable though.
  12. Wish I could be there! I hope to see pictures!
  13. Does anyone have any experience with this fuel rail heat shield on their Renix? I see it says its for a 97+, but I can't see why it wouldn't work on a Renix. https://www.amazon.com/Design-Engineering-010378-Injector-1997-2004/dp/B015NOKWQY
  14. I love my 86 Eagle. If you get it, I also have a bunch of extra parts. Let me go out to mine and I’ll take some pictures of common spots these rust out on the “frame”. Mine is an Alabama car and still has some of this rust.
  15. I took a grey dash and made it dark blue. I did 2 light coats, 1 medium coat, and 2 heavy coats. You can’t tell it hasn’t always been blue and it has been that way for a year now.
  16. This is where the Comanche and other projects and parts will be living while I’m away to college. It’s 40’ long, 9.5’ high, and 8.5’ wide. I will build some shelving inside it and paint the exterior grey at some point.
  17. New headliner installed. I did a grey foam backed fabric, much like the original, then covered that with the fabric shown. I wanted something brighter and mildly patriotic without doing an American flag. Plus, it’s a little weird.
  18. I loved all those pictures! Using these trucks makes all the work worth it.

Best MJ story- I had an MJ when I was in college and blew up the 4.0 that was in it. I held on to it for a bit and sold it like an idiot. Well I had a YJ and the a TJ. I sold the TJ to fund this project because I wanted something different than the typical Wranglers you see on the trails. So after two years of grinding on this thing it is ready for it's maiden voyage and I couldn't be more happier. CC is Awesome! Why? I love all the information that is on this forum. Plus it is awesome to see all the people thatlove these little trucks as much as I do.
  20. You could say the old headliner was pretty bad.
  21. Well, the rear window is in. Now I decided to pull the headliner and redo that. Some of you Eagle eyed people will notice that I had an OEM slider and I’m swapping to a CRL slider. This is for a couple of reasons. 1. The center isn’t plexiglass. 2. It latches. 3. Larger window opening for more airflow. 4. It has a superior design to help keep water out.
  22. It all started with pulling the rear window in order to fix the small leak when it rains really hard. Naturally, it spiraled into changing to the ACC carpet from the POS ACC vinyl floor. I still have to get the rear window sealed up and install the b-pillar panels, but don’t worry, I’m supposed to take the truck camping tomorrow morning. The carpet fits soooooo much better than the vinyl did. And I just cleaned the vinyl 11 days before removing it and this is how filthy it came out. The vinyl is definitely not worth the money.
  23. As far as I know, yes. Makes sense when you think about it. The column shift was for the more stripped down trucks, so very few would have been optioned with a full cluster, so Jeep probably decided it wasn’t worth it at the time. Then the police XJ came along and they needed it.
  24. I will be down in Tucson this fall. I won’t be bringing my Comanche down yet, but an AZ MJ meetup would be fun!
