The bulb for the 4wd indicator could be bad or the vaccume switch on the passenger side of the firewall next to the blower motor could be bad or not seeing the vaccume it needs to trip the light. You can fairly easily add a windshield washer sensor, but you would need the tank and sensor. I think they had shift up lights for the manual mjs, maintenence light, check engine.

Sounds like both the carb and timing might be off.

The more i look through and read on this the more i feel like someone has swapped out the aw4 for a 3 speed and done some messing around. My two hunched are the Trans is shot, or the Trans isn't compatible with the renix setup. If the mj has a tcu then it should be an aw4. And my guess is someone didn't know how to work on or fix the Trans so they swapped a 3 speed in that they had. The kick down cable might not be compatible with the throttle body and its just not allowing for proper Trans fluid pressure and shifting.

I do have one. Unless someone takes the trans and transfercase, i can pull it off for you before scrapping them. Ive got last call on them.

I'd love to see photos. I'm interested but its probably out of my price range. I miss driving my truck so I want another to scoot around in while mine is under restoration.

Adding to the spotting list again, a cj5 i spotted at the same yard 1 week later. dauntless v6 that was locked up. Factory soft top, still had the amc logo sticker on one of the braces. Body was very straight but very rotted. And I found a jem in the back under a tire. Tempted to go back for the tailgate.

Hard to tell what the underside looks like with the snow. Floors were not good though. Poor patch job. And sadly around me salvage yards around me don't let you buy complete. That and once its in the yard, if it had a title its voided

That truck was too clean to be in there! And AMC 20?! I wish I was closer I'd grab that for my truck instead of the 44 I have!

The casting numbers are passenger side of the block up front. Just under the cylinder head. Its similar to an sbc Chevy engine.

I wonder if the 2.8 was replaced with one that was internally balanced and the flex plate has not been neatrally balanced for it so its throwing things off?

Isn't there supposed to be 2 blue wires for the plate lights? I feel like one could be cut and shorting somewhere in the loom there. I would say take that harness out and pull the wires out of the loom to see what's really going on if you can

Yeah there was definitely not enough bracing on these rear bumpers. And the sheet metal was thin ive noticed. Ive also noticed how a lot of people don't know or care about the factory rear bumpers either. Some were listed for $250, easily repairable damage and people were complaining about the price. Blew my mind

When someone says they have an mj rear bumper for just the price of shipping?? I just can't help myself! Maybe a $100 shipped to my door and the bumper is complete. A little rough but might be savable. If not, maybe i can use it towards making new bumpers? No promises on that though. Either way, I can't help myself on a deal!

Either ecm has a short somewhere, or a component on the board has failed. Take the ecm out and open her up

How bad is your sender.

The switch is an easy remedy. The light is not Someone on here makes the faceplates for the switches. Id just drill out the screws
