Project clean machine?
The86manche replied to The86manche's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Update on Candace! We had two really nice spring days so I took FULL advantage of the tike after work to dig into her. Before photos though, I do have to say.. I am thoroughly impressed with the rustoleum rust converter primer. I unfortunately had to leave the axle out in the weather over the winter and to my amazement it didn't start rusting again. It's really good stuff!- 99 replies

The86manche replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hello, I am here! That was me doing refurbs on them! I do have a few that I did go through. Been looking for a test subject to confirm functions on them. -
I did not know that, but makes sense. I'd love to get my hands on one

Stock delay times for wiper module
The86manche replied to Billabob's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You'd be correct on the capacitors in the module. I've got a bunch I've been slowly working on refurbing. Just don't have a way to test them since my truck is torn apart haha -
All the good ones have been hiding in your neck of the woods, right under your nose haha

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/311371465297966/?mibextid=dXMIcH e 3 Can't say I would have done that to that truck myself but they did so oh well. Was a manual that was converted to auto for some reason and the body kit removed. Save for the rear bumper.

1988 Comanche "Frankenjruck"
The86manche replied to H3ADBANG4L1F3's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I would try cleaning up the floors some more. It looks saveable. Like there was only one patch done towards the rear. Maybe remove the braces and clean everything up underneath and such. Get a better assessment of the floors -
I'm from lowell myself, once mine is done I'd love to join too

Appreciate you looking out for me. Looks like the tag is gone but seeing the back half might help identify. Possibly a 208? -
Adapting np207 to 700r4?
The86manche replied to The86manche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
This is all good to know info. Novak does sell a kit to make the 700r4 and 207 bolt together but it's $700 for a output shaft and billet plate. I don't want to spend 700 for that. Trying to find a different input for the 207 kind of turned up fruitless so far. At the very least I intend to rebuild the 700r4 anyway so I'll be in it regardless. I was just trying to save some cash and make it work with what I got instead of having to get more parts. And most yards charge an arm and a leg for drivetrain components around me. So I guess I'll have to shower around for a proper drive drop tcase. I will say the transmission is from an 88 s10 if I didn't mention that. -
Adapting np207 to 700r4?
The86manche replied to The86manche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm willing to pull parts off a junkyard 700r4 to adapt it to work. This 60 degree version is particularly hard to find because of the bellhousing pattern. But otherwise it is still a 700r4 like the rest of them -
Adapting np207 to 700r4?
The86manche replied to The86manche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm just trying to save a few bucks by not getting a different tcase if possible. I know my 207 is good. It's never let me down wh9ch is why I would like to adapt it. Plus I'm still staying with a 2.8. Only.. supercharged. -
So not too long ago I got my hands on a 60 degree 700r4 trans that I intend to put in my comanche. Unfortunately the trans is 2wd so I need to get the parts to convert it to 4wd. My question is there any way to adapt the 700r4 to my 207 without breaking the bank on a Novak adaptor kit?

$1400 diesel MJ in New Hampshire
The86manche replied to Salvagedcircuit's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
It may have been a scam. The listing no longer exists -
$50 drivetrain from an 88 s10. Complete with accessory drive. I mainly wanted the trans, a 700r4 for my supercharged mj project but the guy just wanted it gone so I got the whole thing for a steal!

Downshifting unnecessarily?
The86manche replied to xxmetal's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Possibly kickdown cable out of adjustment? -
That it is, but these trucks have garnered enough attention that there are more repop parts being made. There might be a write up on the conversion somewhere on the site if you do some digging
-
Should just need an external slave ax5 bellhousing the clutch fork and the associated clutch components though the master cylinder might be different. The 2.5 flywheel is supposedly unobtainium so don't throw that away, try and have that resurfaced if you can.
-
Yeah the clurch was blown out when he got it. I figured it would be best to replace everything. Even the brakes where shot. I'd probably look into an external slave conversion. There's been a few tj ax5s hitting my local yard lately. But I feel you on the cold. That snow storm Las week really brought in a cold front

Have you tried the screwdriver to the ear trick to see if the whine is coming from the pump?
