Comanche rear Mudflap template
eaglescout526 replied to JoeM88's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Why? You’re not looking for exact size and shape of the MJ flap are ya? You might be searching for a while to find a set for the MJ. I recall someone on here actually used XJ rears on the MJ and had no complaints. I’ll find it later this evening for ya. -
Isn’t vacuum typically read as hg? And not as psi.
-
If this is fuel pressure. 15psi is where it should be. I’ll look in my TBI book but I know the regulator should have it at 15 at idle.

2.5L 4 Speed Clutch Kit
eaglescout526 replied to JimManche17's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not many options out there for the 2.5L. Course there’s only two transmissions that were ever available with the 2.5L. Both are the same transmission. Just one is a 4 speed and the other is a 5. I believe luk may be the only manufacture. -
1986 2.5L ~ NO START
eaglescout526 replied to White_Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If I had to say it’s about 5 Hp less at take off but the system cycles off during hard acceleration to compensate. Otherwise you really don’t know you have the AC on. -
If it’s for the 2.5L, I bought one and had no issues. I haven’t heard of anyone having this many issues with a radiator fitting. 2.5L radiator remained largely unchanged until the 2.5L was discontinued.

Fixing damage in Steering column.
eaglescout526 replied to 97for86's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
First ouch that sucks. Second, nice brushed dash bezel Third. Looks like they screwed up the gear that the lock and rod work on. Hard to tell. Might have to yank a column if you arent comfortable diving in and fixing it. -

Out with these antiques: These shocks are done. One is extended out for reference on where it shouldve popped back after being pulled. Nope. Just stayed. Whats worse is I was able to pull them off without any issue or worry to the body sagging more. I smooshed the other one in. Still hasnt popped back out Found out these are adjustable Ranchos. A search of the part number and I dont get much other than equivalents and “not available” from Summit. If I had to guess, these are from the 2000's Got the air shocks in. I ran the lines, ready to join them and test it. I will make a video of them working tomorrow. Should be pretty exciting to see them work! Found an AMC number on these AMC accessory Delco shocks that Monroe make. 8952001514 Also got to put this neat sticker on by the compressor. Doesnt mean much but a nice warning. -
Fair. Now that you mention it, it doesn’t have as many rows as the street.

Rear Main Seal DIY Question
eaglescout526 replied to robfg67's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Which engine? -
We not gonna point out the street grill? Those fogs aren’t factory fogs but I’m not saying it couldn’t have the factory fog lamp harness but from the XJ and MJ time up to 91 was Marchals then ROLs. After was blazer lights.

I’d reverse image search those. Could be a scammer. -
What Do You Say to "You should Sell the Jeeps"
eaglescout526 replied to Drahcir495's topic in The Pub
You know, modern automotive parts are wayyyyyy more expensive than they ought to be. Hell even safety devices that…keep one’s life save ironically costs a fortune. Luckily the Jeeps pulled from ford and GM so those parts can be found for cheap. Sure you aren’t saving fuel with the Jeeps but there’s just soooo much more to a modern car that it’s not worth to even have a modern car. So much so that it’s hit a point where you have to ABSOLUTELY take it to the dealer for your car to be worked on. -
That one works too actually.
-
I can see these looking damn good with the AMC logo on the caps
-
Nope. AMC put them on the same bracket for the rear on the XJ. They separated them for the MJ.
