  1. Hahaha theres clearly a point when home depot is your automotive parts department.
  2. I updated this list with some new stuff. I thought about adding rare and specific stuff like my rear window decal on my XJ but what are the odds of ever finding that in the wild. I will open this up to see if I am forgetting anything.
  3. Also got the deluxe wiper switch in. That was an interesting challenge.
  4. Rear window moldings and column housing added. REMEMBER. If you see these on ebay, I sell them cheaper on here.
  5. I made hell of some discoveries today. So I did some digging to find paperwork on the AC. Found it and then some. Alot of invoices from the 90s on parts the PO replaced and his battle with the clutch. The AC I found out was installed July 20th of 1988. Went in for warranty for the idler pulley in 89. Its still the original R12.....yay and boo. The AC kit is from a company called ARA Manufacuring and installed by airmec inc. Pretty neat. Even found the kit instructions as well. Sadly does not list my expansion valve part number but I think I have that narrowed down to a Ford one as almost everything was standard in the 80's. So while this could be a true dealer American Air kit, I am going to say it isnt but nonetheless was still done by a professional AC shop in the 80's. I even found the original for sale ad from the local newspaper where the PO got it. Edit, the for sale ad is from Dec 9 1986. So the PO had it for two years almost, threw in AC then took it up to WA and fought alot of battles with the clutch. How neat.
  6. How rusty are we talking? Course if doing the booster upgrade, I think youd have to chance the master too. That being said, hows the pads and shoes? I had this issue where my pedal as almost to the floor due to missing the alignment pins and causing uneven wear on the drivers side brake pads. Replaced the pins and the pedal would almost be to the floor.
  7. Is the e fan spinning the right way? Last thing you want is the fans fighting each other creating a neutral space in which air is not going to flow
  8. Anything obstructing airflow? Plugged condenser maybe if you have AC equipped? Do you hear the electric fan kick on during these events?
  9. What’s the condition of everything else? Water pump? Hoses? Heater control valve? Temp rising while driving says water pump of obstruction temp rising while stopped says fans and blockage of the cooling fins to the radiator.
  10. So good you can have two coats done in one afternoon haha.
  11. Bring it on out here. Still damn hot enough to fry an egg on our roads.
  12. This is mainly why I asked what everyone is doing or thoughts haha. I hate wasting money these days as is when everything is hard enough and buying a part that you already have and got it cheaper to add an insult to the injury. Its hard enough to sell what I have as is so I can figure out what else I dont need and would like it to be in the hands of someone who can. Like the NOS and used Renix knock sensor. I cant use it and probably never will and want it to go to the right home without tossing it to the wayside. To where as if I inventory what I know I plan to keep but may up selling one day or really just wont have a use for it once all my stuff is done done, I can then get it to someones hands who needs it.
  13. Well it seems like after 40 years of service, the expansion valve gave up. Not gettin cold AC anymore.
  14. Lol to all. I am mostly doing this cause I go to look for one thing and end up finding another thing I can use. Dont get me wrong, its a nice surprise but not when you already spent the money later on. Like I went to look for the original carb air cleaner assembly to display in the garage and ended up finding a tilt column housing with the switch I needed that I otherwise couldve paid $100 for to have the intermittent wipers. I think this has happened a few other times while building up Chunk to where I want to save myself the hassle and money in the long run if I know what I have and where.
  15. How are yall inventorying your parts hoard/stash/pile? I came to the conclusion that its time to inventory all my static parts that wont have any near plans to sell and am doing just a simple excel sheet and labeling the boxes accordingly. Im curious if theres any other good ideas out there.
  16. Damn. The OP was here one day and literally gone the next. Hasn’t been on here in a year.
  17. Oh yeah! Even those guys on the XJ preservation seem to love Chunk. Now heres a PSA, go through your parts more!! I went bumbling around for the original air cleaner for chunk to hang as decor in my garage with the 2.5L lid and came across some parts. Some of which will be listed here first then ebay. However!! I plan to add the deluxe(intermittent)wiper set up, upon digging through my parts I found a tilt column key/turn/wiper switch housing with the wiper switch still in it. Appears to be original AMC/Chrysler equipment. Looks like I am gonna have the deluxe wipers sooner than I thought!! And it works too with a wiper module I also had laying around! Hell yeah! I think that will tick all the luxury boxes for the XJ. Only thing I am missing is keyless entry and thats impossible unless someone wants to help reverse engineer some 80's tech.
  18. Oh yeah, love the original brush guard look. I understand this one. Course its easier to lower the crossmember and trans to get at the bleeder if you cant get to it installed.
  19. Cruise on a 4cyl is rare. I have it on both my Jeeps. Later add on with factory parts of course. The cable for the servo is a pain in the butt to find as it’s much longer than the 4.0L.
  20. Yeah it is. Looks like an SJ servo. I’m really curious about it and why that was used. or are you talking about the sphere which would be for the HVAC blend doors.
  21. Wtf. Well I’ll be damned. An new 87 oddity.
  22. I don’t think ive ever seen an 87 without a vac diagram on the emissions label.
  23. Ive seen SJ guys gut that much floor out of their SJ.
  24. That firewall label scares me. Where is the vacuum diagram?
