  1. I’ve been been hogging some MJ pictures and I need to share them. This is a beautiful one owner Laredo located in Everette Washington. Original owner too! I’ll get the VIN when I go back this next week And this is a gorgeous 87 Sportruck at AMC salvage. Serviceman sold it to them and a guy begged and pleaded them to sell it to him and they did so I hope it is in good hands. Even gave them a club card to give to the owner. Has marchal 750 fogs. Only thing that’s broke is the 4.0. That’s the only reason why the serviceman sold it
  2. Glad to know that! She seems happy to sit there all day. She will even do 70 for me if I ask her. Again this was just an idea. I had a spare trans laying around now and it turns out the trans is an AX4. Never seen one in person till now.
  3. I guess what I’m asking is did all of our MJs and XJs come AC ready from the factory on the interior harness or do I need to source the harness?
  4. Don’t tell me AC needs it’s own wiring harness and it’s not already there from the factory.
  5. Probably right about that, wrong direction to go, but ratios were never my thing and I am doing my best to understand them more. Might do that. Being only 22 and used to how modern cars are, 3000rpm seems high and foreign for me while cruising. Glad my idea brought more insight on traveling at 3000rpm. I'm currently on 215's and my tach is accurate, 3000 was just a good round number, its some where like 2900. 8.8, never happening. Staying stock. I guess I don't do enough freeway driving to really change the gearing. I do appreciate everyone's responses. I had a thought and I have learned that the idea I have won't work.
  6. Neat! So the numbers on those are probably low. Course I wonder why Chrysler used the 97 and up letter style seeing how the Comanche never got to that era.
  7. That thought crossed my mind. I just gotta hunt down the bell housing. Course I did just get AC for the 2.5 so the sky’s the limit on that one.
  8. Here’s an idea. I don't know how many of us have looked at a 5 and a 15 and said I could swap the internals or even conceived the thought. Hell I’ve never seen a 15 in person. I have seen a BA10/5 though. Well i’m wondering, can the fifth gear of the 15 be swapped and used on a 5? But Eagle, why would you want to do such a thing? Well I would love to cruise at high way speeds without being at 3000 rpm at 65mph on the poor little 2.5L. Now I could go the route of dropping in a 4.56 gear ratio and see if that would help, which it probably would but doing differential work scares the hell out of me. I’m fine with grenading a trans but not a rear diff if I do something wrong on the swap. So that being said, I now have an extra AX5 and maybe someone might have an thought on putting the 15’s fifth gear on the 5.
  9. like Christmas! I can see why the owner got rid of this engine. A dreaded fram filter. This shall be fun. Also that valve cover is the same hard plastic Chrysler uses. So why do our replacement ones suck? China. Oh and stay tuned for AC
  10. Still waiting on my crate to show up. Once I get it, it’s gonna be a slow process. Got a few parts to order/get still. I can snag you a pic of the whole harness and send it to you in a PM.
  11. So that way you won’t have to build you own. If you do though make sure you use 80’s GM connectors. There should be a four plug connector on the drivers side of the engine bay hidden by the washer and coolant bottle for the 2.5L that is plugged by a cap. I have a NOS wiring harness if you would like to see the connections.
  12. I don’t know if you want to go to a dealership but MoPar still has them.
  13. I wish I took pictures of the old vent valves when I changed them to fix the over flowing before the gas pump stops problem, but they looked as you would expect for being thirty years old, roasted like a marshmallow. But I did give him a few things to check while on the back channel. Luckily the vent system isn't as complex as say a modern vehicle like a 5.7L Hemi.
  14. Ah more fuel for the jealousy fire. Glorious pics though!
  15. Make sure the VIN is in the registry if it isn’t.
  16. Would you mind double checking your VIN? You’re a number short after your GT.
  17. I know there are clubs and car shows. But I haven't heard of any Jeep only shows out here. The clubs probably put something together but I don't have any contact with any of these clubs.
  18. I just did a bit of research and it seems that they are out there. I was worried they wouldn't be.
  19. You've piqued my curiosity, What years and engines do those lines fit?
  20. Yeaaaaaa.... something like that needs to happen out west.
  21. Well when I get everything I’ll make sure to be as detailed as possible when I go to installing stuff.
  22. Why is it Comanche spelled with two M’s?! Also that’s awesome!
  23. Ah. Another fellow 2.5L owner. Well its not hard to add AC to our MJs. Plenty of members have done it. You'll need the brackets for the 2.5L, compressor, lines, condenser, receiver, dryer, expansion valve, control deck, wiring harness, evaporator and the housing for evap and heater core. Completing such a project for us 2.5L guys is getting impossible. You can only use Renix 2.5L parts. No 4.0L Renix or 2.5L or 4.0L H.O. engine parts can be used. On the interior side, everything is the same from 84-96. So in short, sourcing parts for 2.5L AC is getting impossible. I’ve gone four years without AC in my truck. Your best bet is to post a want ad and keep an eye out for people selling whole engines for the 4.0 conversions and at the salvage yards for the Renix era and the Pre H.O. YJs as they used the same brackets for the AC. I wish you luck on your hunt. I got lucky and a member found someone selling their whole engine that had everything I needed and they managed to snag the interior parts too.
  24. Those are long gone. One dealer has one and according to the parts catalogue, its for the YJ
  25. Actually I still have a 33004761 from when they were still available from the depots. They quickly disappeared shortly after I ordered one. I don't know if the original one worked or not but it was tossed from being caked. It has only been changed three times. One was a napa and its fate was from the trans blowing. Another was a crown that got eaten by the fly wheel and the third is napa. Fourth will be the Mopar. I do not know much about the other number other than it is another alternative till they disappear. I do know about the Siemens(Bendix) making the CPS, they probably don't anymore. Renault did use Renix in a couple vehicles across the pond and on their own vehicles here, but it is unknown as to whether or not they used the same sensor setup.(I would imagine so but I don't own or know anyone who knows a Renault or have any info on Renaults other than the partnership with AMC and being partially owned by its government.)
