    I think it’s a neat thing. I’m not going to say everything they have is accurate. Maybe the 2.5L as I see somewhere around 18mpg but I digress. It’s neat to see what cars originally were rated for when they first came out on that model year.

    Neat. Thankfully I cleaned everything. I plan to do a well documented DIY for future AC-less 2.5L owners

    I plan to add a crap load of pics. As long as your set up is a serpentine and not V-belt, adding AC should be pretty dang straight forward. I recommend getting the AC kit from jeepair that is a R134a retrofit. But if yours is an '86 and you sourced from an '86, then you should have no issues with your parts. But the belt routing is important and '86 is an odd year. I'll do a DIY for us 2.5L guys, I feel ya on the lack of documentation and pictures.

    I did a little bit of part number digging and came across that the harness for the control deck is different between '86 and '87. But it gets discussed very often on here how some early production '87's could have used '86 parts until they ran out.

    Which harness? Engine side is the same for all years. Dash side is a tad bit tricky. I'm beginning my install this weekend. I have everything I need to make it plug and play. But I'm not sure if '86 has a specific dash harness. It should be a six prong plug that plugs in some where inside the dash. The year of your truck will be quite helpful for us.

    Mono is the way to go! Oh wait, that applies to records. I don't think I've ran into a mono setup for a Comanche though. That's probably like that from the factory.

    I have no idea how many were made with your set up. All I know is auto 2.5L’s don’t pop up often. Maybe someone might know a source that has said numbers.

    Lol. I’d imagine that the autos came with that gearing. Since it is an AW4 after all. I think the A999 was set up with a different ratio

    I wish you the best of luck. Best bet is to have it “rebuilt”. As far as anyone’s having one, they probably have a stash of platinum with that controller.

    So...I did some searching for your controller. There are two different part numbers. 53005101 is for the 2.5L auto. No one has one but this is what you want to look for. There’s an older part number still available from one dealer but it is worth an arm and a leg. Maybe half a brain. So a 4.0 controller won’t be direct plug and play for you because of the shift points the controller expects from the six cyl

    I second what Pete said. I regret not hopping on here after I found several answers and not tracking my build. I'd like to go back and see the original base steel white wheels again from when I first got Little Red. But I can't find any pictures from that time.

    You could always apply direct power to your pump and see if it stays running to eliminate the thought of a bad pump.

    Those are said to be found under the seat. I found mine....sadly I found it by accident after my transmission blew in a spectacular fashion. And it was in pieces too when I found it. So what you have is a neat piece of history for your truck as most have disintegrated or disappeared by now. Granted the parts catalogue I use provides build sheet data.
