  1. Sounds like that old model T sales pitch.. Though I hate to admit this but damn the buckets are comfy. My XJ has turned me against my MJ.
  2. Thats a damn good sign actually. Mine would do it, Id be driving and it would cough and sputter, press down on the pedal harder for more gas and it would clear up until the issue came back. I think you have a headgasket issue.
  3. Ouch. Coolant brown?
  4. This makes me think either head gasket failure or fuel pump failure or being intermittent. When was the fuel filter last changed?
  5. Ground is where I would check but if it’s been driving fine and suddenly cuts off, I wouldn’t put it past the fuel pump to have died.
  6. I just want to barrow one to get collect some info on.
  7. The rectangular one right? Not the square one that’s on the passenger side.
  8. I’m kinda sold on gettin one of these. $20k for a base bare bones modular truck that looks like an MJ. Slate is also headed by a former Chrysler exec which makes sense for the styling cues of an 80’s truck and the MJ.
  9. I still think 84 and 85 are the most under appreciated years of the XJ
  10. Power wire could be messed up. Verifying will require the ECU to be unplugged and verify continuity to the TPS from the ECU input and ECU output. Now I’ll admit, backprobing that damn plug sucks.
  11. Yeah that switch was discontinued back in 2021.
  12. Be very very careful if you can take it apart. There are 3 fingers on each contact rail, it is very very easy to screw them up.
  13. Is it the original TPS? I found out you can take them apart and clean the internal contacts. Aftermarket, it varies. Also A and B should get you the voltage from the position of the throttle opening, B and C should get you ECU voltage. A and B should be 4.6-4.7V at WOT.
  14. You sure? That pot can be adjusted pretty far.
  15. Lol hybrids work. I’d love to have a 229, 207 and a 231 as spares to see what I can mix and match.
  16. Lol! I would love some pics of this since ive got the 207 in my XJ. I didnt think you could remove the speed gear unless you removed the tail shaft of the 207.
  17. That logo insert is better anyways haha. Im just biased.
  18. Yeahhhh thats a special hell we have to endure. Wait, did you actually get the electric speed sensor on the 207?
  19. I found the magazine on eBay. There’s a couple. https://www.ebay.com/itm/404923501340?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=7gCIrKjYTsi&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=n7myxbO3SYC&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY https://www.ebay.com/itm/256878650342?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=M2p114lmQOe&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=n7myxbO3SYC&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  20. No. I probably will this evening.
  21. I need this now. Haha.
  22. The 87-96 clusters have a pot on the tach that can be adjusted and more than likely read a V8
  23. Oh yeah!! Duh, course how often is anyone taking that spacer out of their Jeep? Most of us probably dont even know we have one there till we replace the steering gear.
