  1. I’ll admit G. Your MJ is an inspiration for me to take it slow on both the XJ and T/A to get all the details just right. Love watching this build.
  2. Mopar still makes them.
  3. Well the armor look should solve busted tail lights.
  4. The UK use MPH.
  5. Huh. That’s one way to do the brake switch. A lot cheaper than a new switch.
  6. No. The vac portion on top only dumps vacuum when the brake pedal is depressed and disengages cruise control. As for what it does with a t-case, i don't know. My MJ isn’t equipped with 4wheel drive and my XJ doesn’t have cruise.
  7. Yeah I have seen that switch used for the transfer case and cruise control

  9. Got some goodies in! Once the floor is done I will be getting to work on alot of electrical and what not to get ready and prepped for the TBI swap in the future.
  10. Bumper isn’t too bad. Could always loosen the whole bumper but not take it off to get the reservoir behind where it needs to sit. Now what you could do is cut the rubber grommet that the cruise harness goes through and set your Ethernet cable in with the cruise harness and get the plug to set snuggly in place.
  11. That black box that’s velcroed that’s under the steering column is the intermittent wiper module.
  12. Cruise control will be the easiest pain in the rear you’ll encounter haha. Mostly where you’ll have fun is getting the harness through the firewall at the plug by the speedo cable and getting the weather proof grommet to sink into the hole right.
  13. Double check your VIN please. It and the last 8 come up as invalid.

  15. Is it a 5 prong? The only white relay that was common found on the Renix Jeeps was that white relay from GM for the horn.
  16. Horn. It’s the horn relay. Does your horn work or is it rigged?
  17. Chances are if the PO swapped stuff in like power doors, the connections at the fuse block won’t be there.
  18. It really is. I didn’t get a chance to work on it as I keep forgetting it’s got a camper shell on it to protect the rest of the car. Main goal is to figure out why it’s not creating a spark. It does seem to spark and I don’t want to have my sister throw money at the ignition system like a new coil until I can figure out if that’s the problem or not.
  19. Removing that clip will let you roll the numbers. Not disable the entire odo assembly so you’re good there.
  20. Fixed
  21. Yeah that’s weird. My mount wasn’t an issue at all
  22. Back at this beast. So I goofed around with trying to get it to start and come to find out as I was removing the manifold, its out of fuel haha. So i got the intake manifold off this evening. That was bit of a chore but I am very happy with how clean it is! don't worry, I vacuumed off the oil shield before removal and the inside. Next is to get the heads off to replace their gaskets. Now assessing the intake manifold. I think it needs a electrolysis bath as it has some surface rust but luckily it seems like the layer of dirt that was caked on saved it with the exception of some bolts for the t-stat, EGR and the heater tube. Those may not be fun to remove and will go slow with those. I know I do need a new EGR and I am looking at the possibility of a t-stat housing alongside the t-stat. Oh and a new oil shield too. Yes I did get the hose off and scrapped all the dirt off and its clean. I am gonna go at it with a wire brush and drill tomorrow to really get all the surface rust off and see what I am dealing with. The underside though is as clean as the engine is.
  23. Strange. My 2.5L doesn’t have the elbow for my pressure sensor if that’s the issue your having. The old one is a switch that when it hits no pressure it just turns on a light. The bigger mopar looking unit is a true sensor. Anywho if there’s an elbow preventing you from installing it you can always remove the elbow and put it.
  24. Yeah I’m gonna be working on it and didn’t know if there was an interest in the poor man’s Porsche. I will do a thread over the weekend as I’ll be tearing into my T/A for gaskets. Oh I know. My grandfather preached about how this car is worth a lot of money. I know my sister won’t sell it and I told her it has to absolutely stay stock. I have read that a 5speed from a 280 should fit fine without any modifications to the floor pan but that was a while ago before actually starting this project. But for right now it has to be able to get spark and the fuel tank has to be dropped and cleaned. Funny you mention this as I can’t find any rust anywhere except for some light damage at the tail pipe to the body and the interior beneath the hatch where the seal for the window is missing due to it having failed years ago but it’s just surface. From what I can tell though, I don’t see any other issues with this car other than not starting and electrical.
