  1. I got some of those for Christmas and they are pretty handy. I haven't done much wiring with them yet, but what I have done seems to be doing pretty well.
  2. I don’t take the Comanche out on trips, but I do wheel around the south east with the Cherokee. I’m in the offroad club at Clemson and we try to get a trip every month of the school year and I typically try to do a trip or two during the summer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. If any of them have the fog light switch by themself I’ve been looking for one of those Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I finally got the pieces to put one of these together. I just need to borrow a welder or pay someone to weld the brackets on since the 8.25 tubes are too big for the u bolts and then I should be able to bolt it all up.
  5. Now i just need to get it to idle at 750 instead of 2000 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Cut one of the legs of the fork off the distributor and turned it back a few more degrees and it seems perfect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Got a distributor cap at the junkyard to cut open and check the distributor indexing. Also got some front wheel well liners, the pieces to make a rear sway bar, a 97+ washer bottle, the correct speedo gear for 3.55s and I think that’s it. Just need to get time to mess with the truck. 8. Runs much better back a tooth, but it still seems a little off and I can’t help but wonder if moving back just a couple more degrees would be the sweet spot. I’ve seen a good bit of complaints about aftermarket distributors being off on the timing some. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Setting the timing back one tooth seemed to have fixed all of the hesitation and stumbling. I still think it’s a few degrees off but one more tooth puts it way too far back. But the timing is still a little over 40 degrees at times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I've driven it a few times with the REM now and it seems the ignition timing is over 40 degrees every time it stumbles and at idle the timing is around 24* so I think I'll try turning the distributor back a tooth and see how it does. I'm not sure how many degrees one tooth turns it back though. I guess I'll try it tomorrow (hopefully) after class.
  11. Do these 120 mph speedos only come in electronic versions, or are there the mechanical versions too? I’d like one in my Comanche, but it is a renix with the speedo cable vs the electronic control. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. They bolt from the crossmember to the frame rail. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Tightened up the wheel bearings today. They were a little loose, but when I pulled them they still looked good so I repacked them and put them back in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. You shouldn’t need resistors for the truck lites. My Cherokee has them and they have always worked correctly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I cleaned it up with a wire wheel and got some good converter, primer, and a few coats of enamel on it. Put it on the truck the day after that and hopefully I’ll get to use it soon. Today I bought an REM to hopefully go through some of the running data and see why it acts funky sometimes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. If you plan to keep it manual, then it should be pretty simple. The 94 (maybe) definitely 95-99 Cherokees will have an external slave ax-15 which some argue is better than the nv3550 which was 00-01 Cherokees but the 00-01 had low pinion dana 30s. Both are better than the trans you have in there currently and both are external slave which is much better for if it goes out. 95-96 will have the right style interior to use the shift bezel, but that’s easy enough to get at a junkyard and shouldn’t be a deciding factor. 97+ dana 30s had a bigger u joint in them. I’m not sure how the wiring for the dash lights work for the 4wd indicator. I do know that the plug for an ax-15 and ba-10 are different but was easy to adapt when I did my ba-10 to ax-15 swap. So to summarize, I would look for a 97-99 for a swap best axle/trans combo in a single vehicle. When I swapped stuff around I just stalked craigslist and Facebook market place to find the trans and stuff I needed. Oh and all Cherokee driveshafts will be too short so you will need to get a custom one made or find one from a 4wd Comanche. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Sent you a PM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Sorry just saw this. I’m not sure what cost would be to ship. I’ll see if I have anything I can put it in and then go from there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I know where a t case skid is and can pull it for you. Not sure what it would cost at the yard or what it would cost to ship. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. What plasma cutter did you purchase off of amazon if you don’t mind me asking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. picked up and painted this today. Hopefully I’ll get it on tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Read the whole thread and it just makes me want to TDI swap mine even more. I'm glad you got the truck back!
  23. huh, I don't think I've ever seen an ash tray light. I guess I need to add it to my list when searching the junkyards now. I already grab every clock I see. My cigarette lighter in the Comanche looks like it has the green ring around it like it should light up, but I'm not sure what the deal is with it. There is definitely a lot less light in my Comanche than there is in my 99 Cherokee. I saw a post somewhere that a guy had put some kind of rear view mirror in that had lights in the bottom of it. I plan to do that in the future, but there are a few other pressing matters before I get to it and see how it all works.
  24. The clock I had was backlit with a bulb, and it never told the right time. I don't remember if it was fast, or if it was slow, but it would be off a few hours by the end of the day. It never dimmed so it was hard to see in day light and too bright at night. All three of the ones I have now say Quartz on then and both of the ones on the shelf are the black backed ones. I don't remember what the back of the one in the truck looked like, but it was plug and play for my 87.
  25. Yeah, I was hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
