That is disgusting. I can't believe the crap people (insert other word here) will do to make themselves heroes, or deserving of attention in the least. I did not serve but it really is maddening that this happens and they haven't got the crap beat out of them. Buck

I think I do have every receipt but since we are not talking about normal upkeep I will not go back and get depressed. I guess 2 paint jobs, bedslide, new (to me) topper, helper springs, around 5k. Buck.

Great story! Take your time and be patient, just like when you were looking for it. Spend a lot of time on here reading and asking questions, and above all, enjoy it! Buck.

Thanks benjy_26! Just reread your thread, amazing work on your mj. Wish I had your knowledge. Buck.

Nice work, keep the pics coming.

Welcome to another Floridian. With your knowledge of the xj I am sure you are ready for the weirdisms that come with this engine. Good luck and keep us posted. Buck.

Nice looking mj you have. Can't wait to see it finished. The painter I used deserves the credit. I think I was leaning towards black flares and he said to go ahead and paint the lower part black and the cowel and the drip rails black. He also went slightly darker grey than the factory grey. I painted the topper and didn't do a great job. I will probably have somebody repaint the topper someday. Unfortunately my painter retired so will have to find another. Buck

Sorry I lied. The one thing that is not stock but is nearly priceless to me is the bedslide.

Hello everyone, I just wanted to celebrate a happy occasion. Tomorrow marks the 25th anniversary of the purchase of my mj. I am excited to have owned this vehicle this long. I am wondering when it will be worth again what I paid for it, just over 12k. I am so lucky that it has spent all but 1 year of it's life here in the sunny state of Florida. Although it doesn't have any issues with rust, it has been painted 2 times because of said sun. Still stock all around, put in a new clutch last year, I think it is my 3rd clutch. I do have the ax 15 so no issues there, hopefully never! It is driven a few times a month and still drives and moves well. Need to get the ac fixed so I don't have to go through another summer w/o ac, unbearable here. I like when a stranger comments on how nice it is or someone gives me a thumbs up. I still have not had a person ask if it is for sale, don't know what it would take to let it go, a lot! I have been a cc member for almost 5 years and really enjoy all the info, pics, knowledge, humor that you all have shared. Buck.

Welcome to the mj family. Congrats on the 2 additions to the household, kid and mj. Hopefully the child will cost more! You are correct about the non attitude of this site. Great people, great knowledge. Buck.

Cummins B3.3 Powered Mj Build!
buxmj replied to krustyballer16's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Great work! It sucks when you buy something that is supposed to fit and it's not even close! You would think with the technology out there they should be able to get something where it is at least usable. Keep taking your time, this will be an awesome truck when finished. Buck.- 299 replies

Welcome to the club and great decision to get out of an expensive new car and get into hopefully not expensive mj. Looks like it was not abused and with those few miles, it might still be getting broken in. Check out the "advice" thread, I have gone through it a few times, amazing knowledge on this forum and no attitude to go with it! The mj is becoming more and more rare and it would be nice if they become collectible someday. Do you know how many previous owners there were? Buck.

1991 Eliminator - Just Purchased - What or if to Build?
buxmj replied to Bensquire's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I agree with everyone above, keep it stock and pristine! I don't know if you will find an mj with so few miles. Awesome find, enjoy it! Buck. -
Great find! I was wondering what all that white stuff is, then I remembered why I moved to Florida. Hope you don't get too many of those. Enjoy the truck and hope you have a forgiving/understanding better half, you will spend a lot of time on the mj. Buck.

My first MJ, super clean, all original 89 Pioneer
buxmj replied to uncleben03's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I will agree also to keep it stock. I also have an '89 Pioneer and keep it stock, although when I had it painted I did not replace the Pioneer stripes. I like it better that way now, buy that is for my truck. Congrats and enjoy! Buck -

Awesome truck and well deserved mjotm! -
Great work already. Can't wait to see the interior.

I only have one but I bought it new 25 years ago. I had an 86 for 2 years prior to that, so although I've only owned one mj at any point in my life, I've had an mj for the last 27 years. Buck.

Where did you get your rear wheel spacers? Good fit? Thanks, Buck

Comanche Camper... The Comansion!!
buxmj replied to neohic's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
This is one of my favorite projects, thanks for the new pics. Can you post pics of the inside? Don't remember seeing them and curious about ease of getting up into tent and if it would be easy to roll out while sleeping and end up in the truck bed. Thanks, Buck -
