  1. I started 1-5 of @crusier54 ground refreshing and now the b*tch won't start? WTH? I have no dip stick stud with grounds. Previous owner(s) moved them to the neg batt cable location. I removed and cleaned two round connectors and the neg batt cable and the stud. Put them back. I removed and cleaned the braided cable attached to the firewall, but not the end connected to the engine. I could not budge it. That's as far as I got. Truck turns, catches and immediately dies. This is my DD, so I need help ASAP. Also found some mystery connectors. One of them a Ford?! I guess should have left it alone. No good deed goes unpunished.
  2. Been looking around for a suitable replacement for the part shown. Is the hole diameter on the threaded end important to function? If the hole was larger, would it matter? Also, cruiser54 did you pick this brass connector for a more permanent solution or is a nylon option not available? Would this fit, for example? https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-47057-HELP-PCV-Elbow/dp/B000JZI1U2/ref=pd_rhf_se_p_img_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=01Q7SDFB930V62TGYWTC
  3. cruiser54 Is there an option to the NAPA vacuum fitting? It's not in stock at my local store. They want to charge me $22 in shipping and I have to order 5! I'm not playing that game.
  4. Okay gents, oh wait, that be insensitive. Okay non-gender specific Jeep Comanche owners, @Strokermjcomanche The MAP sensor plug on the throttle was completely unplugged. Put that back. However, I have noticed that mine has a hose connected at bottom, whereas I have seen many with that same hose connected at top. Does that matter? @87MJTIM I do not have Nickintimedesign's REM. After reading about it, sounds like a must-have. @cruiser54 I hate always saying that I have not does the grounding checks. I'm concerned that it will take so long that I won't be done when I need to go somewhere. I know that's lame. Could the stalling be because the Map sensor/Vacuum system had to re-pressurize before it started running smoothly? It's running pretty well now. Also, this morning, I did the CPS-uplug-replug trick due to no start. It's done this of-and-on recently. Turn over several times with no start, but eventually does start. The CPS trick worked, so I guess I need to replace something there. While digging around for the CPS, I decided to take a pic of two unconnected sensors. ID on those?
  5. My 88 was running poorly recently so I replaced the Air Filter, Fuel Filter, Plugs (they were black!) and Wires and Dist cap. The link is really just for audio so you can ignore the video part. It started great, ran for about 90 sec and shut down. Started it again and it started doing what's in the video. Shortly after I stopped recording, everything seemed to straighten out. Is this normal after new parts?
  6. I'd like to consider ratting my MJ, but all these straight line don't seem to allow for much visual interest. Seems like all guy's do is lower it. No interest in that.
  7. My 88's been my DD for the past 3 years.
  8. A disassembled piano. Heavy, heavy, HEAVY!
  9. This a is textbook example of "seemed like a good idea the time" huh? They get hot for sure. Mine stopped steaming after I replaced the cap on the overflow bottle. And, I don't lean on the hood after a long drive.
  10. Boy ol' boy! That's a can of worms! I love mine and earned them through a work trade. So, no cash, just did some work for guy. Some folks get them for free too. And some folks trade for parts. The tire looks good, so that's a plus.
  11. UH OH! Serious dash modification on the horizon!
  12. Sweet! I have an oldschool Rockford Fosgate Punch 45 amp, but I'm intimidated by the wiring. Guess I'm not man enough for it!
  13. SACRILEGE!!! Sorry. Chrome is my favorite color.
  14. My add to this topic is to start with a quality amp. A good, clean amp can make even cheap speakers sound good. Just be sure any aftermarket speakers are a good match. While most of you may know this, speakers are "blown" due to being under powered more than overpowered.
  15. Sure, upstairs anywhere, no AC, at 95 degrees is bad news.
  16. Sorry. I understand the confusion now after rereading the topic head. It's been my experience that most folks aren't happy with the height difference with rocker-style seats and, as a result, many MJ owners don't attempt an install. My post was just add to the discussion that you can add the rocker seats without the major height addition by removing all the rocker mechanimeses.
  17. I didn't know that either, but explains why I couldn't find them.
  18. That looks like it! No way in heck I can restore at this point. Thanks!
  19. Not really. You have to add holes or find some other way to reattach the seat to the sliders. I placed the seat back on the slider in the position I wanted, marked it and drilled new holes to bolt the seat down.
  20. Works for me.I have them on my 88. In fact, I'm missing one. Anybody got a spare for the passenger side? (I know, wrong section)
  21. Hey all, PO painted my 88 Pioneer flat black. I'm looking for a good image that shows the original colors. It WAS Colorado Red with Gold striping. Also has the Olympic sticker. Finding a red MJ isn't so hard, it's the gold striping I can't find.
  22. Walmart has a Medium Gray and Light Graphite. Which one is the best match to MJ grey plastics?
