Well , after all this , I'm no help but why not run 456's , you can match those to a dana 30 , if you ever decide to go 4x4 . Some of the stock 2 WD MJ's came with 456 gears . Thats what I'm doing right now with my Dana 44 and Dana 30 . I almost bought a AMC 20 out of a stock MJ . Still sprung under and everything , got a better deal on a way better built 44 . It made it easy to match gearing and its easy to find disc brake parts , like the Ford rear ends . Some or most of the ford axles came with discs .

This truck is so nice , it needs to stay bumped ! -
So that would leave Fox News as the propaganda source for the truth? :rotf: Willy Exactly !!! Yeah I should have put Liberal / Conservative , to be technical they both do it . Little bit of terrorism here in our own country .

Yes true , but this was a all Colorado truck , from a Denver dealer . He even posted pics of all the interior and eng. compartment . Factory stickers and all . Was painted factory color . Its one of the cleanest MJ's I have ever seen . Not a chip , scratch or anything wrong with it . We don't have too much of a problem with rust here in Colorado . -
The main thing we should be looking for , is the companies that pay their workers a fair wage . Also , what are they using the money for ? Chavez , is directly funding a mass production weapons facility , feeding and backing all sorts of militant and terrorist organizations . Throughout the world . Same thing with some middle east oil companies , although there ambitions are quite a bit different than people think . The biggest misconception is that all middle east countries hate us . Not true . Yes they don't want us there , but most of the average people just want peace , freedom and running water , witch they have never had before . The Iranian people are very nice . They do not like that we back their enemies . Doesn't mean they will nuke the world . If so , they would have already done so . There is a BIG difference between the extreme militants and the countries they live and operate in . There governments do not condone there actions and wish them gone like the rest of us . However being in a corrupted , poor , war torn civilization . The terrorists have TONS of recruiting power . Allot of the Saudi oil rigs employ American contractors , who secure and operate those oil rigs , protecting the Saudi oil . Allowing them to sell it back to us on the open market . My brother was posted in those Marine barracks when the terrorists attacked back in the 90's . Once we quit protecting their investment and ours , some other country will just come and take it . If we didn't do our job after the second word war , the Russians would have turned that place into a parking lot a long time ago . Fueling the Communist war machine . Probably starting another world war . Moral of the story .... Don't listen to CNN or any liberal news media station and take it as truth . I could go on for hours talking about the conflict I served in , but there isn't enough time in a day . I don't like our involvement in Saudi , but I like the people we protect and they do too . As far as taking the U.S down . They got to go through a bunch of tough lipped SOB's like me first . FAT CHANCE !! Semper Fi , Hooaah and all that . De Opresso Liber . girls !!!!

Need Help with Death wobble
DJM/78 replied to MjAllTheWay's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
More than likely ball joints . probably all of them , I would recommend replacing all the ball joints . Also all the control arm bushings , upper and lower . There is no point getting an alignment if even one ball joint is bad . I wouldn't even drive the thing until its all replaced and aligned . All driving it will do is make it worse . -

DJM/78 replied to socal1200r's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
HVAC plumbing and supply shops or Professional body and paint supply stores carry all kinds of connections for high pressure fittings and valves . T-connectors and shut offs as well . -
The kids ? Screw them , I want one ! :rotf: I won't fit though . :hmm: OK lets see ... how do I get my leg in here ....

Making XJ buckets work in a MJ
DJM/78 replied to mfpdm's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
so tj wrangler seats bolt right in??? Not at all , it took some modification of the floor pan and the aftermarket seats have adjustable seat holes on the bottom . Move those around a bit to fit the 95 XJ floor brackets . There might be someone here that has a set . My way is to have a weld shop , build you a set of floor brackets , to fit whatever seat you want . Preferably XJ buckets w/ headrests or another seat thats close to dimensions . TJ seats are taller , so modification is needed . However IMHO , custom seats are kick@ss !! :beerhead: -

Cool , My bolt holes do not line up because of some minor front end damage , off by 1/2 of an inch . I have tried everything I know to move that metal . Won't budge . I was going to do this but ran into that problem . My guess is a frame straightener ? Or a frame pully . I have been trying to do this ,but everyone down here said it would be fine . I am all about making it stronger . Thanks for the input . -
Wow ! Maybe this is too political ? However allot of the things covered has flaws . Any facts compiled purely off Liberal / conservative media stations are skewed to fit personal gain and political preference . Anyone who thinks Bush owns all the middle east oil companies , needs to do more research . How come Obama is pushing for more off-shore drilling programs ? Frankly if Chavez was such a good leader , than why are his people still poor and oppressed ? Anyone still riding the anti-bush campaign , needs to get over it . Sh@ts done with . If we are such bad people , than why are they taking the first rubber dingy over here then ? Anyone who has been to Venezuela , knows of civil poverty and social decay . Now they are building weapons factories ? Great ! Cheap should not be the defining choice in where we buy oil , thats why Walmart is one of the largest companies in the world . Cheaper is not better . Thats why allot of Walmart workers are on food stamps . Is this the next standard of the United States ? Minimum wage and food stamps ? Oh' It all makes my head hurt . Sorry for the rant .

Check craigs list . There is one near me for about 100.00 bucks . Probably needs rebuilt but runs . I found 4 in a week , found the best one out of them , paid 300.00 for it . W/ 373 gears . Currently being completely rebuilt .
-
I am almost done with my D44 , They are all good ( built correctly ) anyway . The ford Diff's are easier to find and cheaper to convert to disc brakes . However the D44's are still around . Just a bit more money to convert to disc .

That looks great , yeah mine only uses the front three bolts . I would like to do that , but how involved is it . The three on each side that I have now where a b@tch to line up , the bumper is still a little off . I could only imagine two or more bolts on each side . Are those longer grade 8 bolts ? Thanks -
Guess I was the only dumb@ss , who was fooled . :dunce: :wavey:

Will do ! I usually buy from Conoco . I have not put seven eleven gas in any vehicle for about twenty years . Up here , all the seven eleven stores use Citco . Myth being , they add water to the gas . Probably true ? :dunno: Others I prefer : Diamond Shamrock , BP , Shell .

When he rebuilt my bumper brackets , he used 1/4 steel . Much thicker than before . He swore he had been using this set up for 15 years . I don't do anything real tough with it though and he said if I ever had a problem , to take it back and he would fix it . No winch , for I have not been stuck yet . If I bought a winch bumper and winch , it would never get used . I have used it for minor towing and small jobs , it does good so far , but we'll see . The " D " ring clamps are deep welded into the metal . It doesn't look like it but that bumper weighs about 90 lbs . Made of thick reinforced " c " channel . It won't be hard to make new brackets that go further back to the other bolt holes if needed . But I don't know how hard I'm going to be on it . I try not to do anything JUST for looks . I'm also still working on it too . Needs a couple of things . -
