  2. Nope. But it needs to be done no matter what.
  3. Closest to the transfer case front output.
  4. Bad u-joints, bad double cardon parts.............
  5. Still resisting the CAD elimination, I see................. I did the CAD fix and I noticed it made the front driveshaft spinning and it wa vibe rating badly and I got less gas mileage so I decided to stick with the vacuum system Too soon to say it affected the mileage. I've never noticed a difference. And, if the factory was gonna lose MPGs they never woulda done it .Any vibes indicate an issue with the shaft, not the fix.
  6. Use the bar code scanner app on your smart phone.......
  7. Still resisting the CAD elimination, I see.................
  8. Woohoo!! I love it.
  9. Click on the link in my signature and do the ground refreshing, connector refreshing, and C101 cleaning. You just pointed yourself in the right direction.
  10. Oh yeah. No downsides.
  11. Yup. And plug them at their source per the diagram previously posted.
  12. Yes, perfectly. The CAD system on the front axle was a feeble attempt to increase the fuel mileage on the XJs. Didn't work for that and had it's own set of issues. Factory eliminated it in about 1991. There is NO downside to doing the mod, except the light. And, I have a sneaking suspicion you are of above average intelligence and are perfectly capable of using the lever as in indicator in the light's absence.
  13. Save yourself the trouble and do the cAD fix. Less time invested and a better result. Vacuum is not the only issue with those front axles.
  14. Yep. A simple glance toward the console will show the lever position. We don't need no stinkin' lights!!
  15. Here's what I would do and have done on every one of those CAD axles. http://comancheclub.com/topic/17377-cad-fix-1/
  16. Since he mentioned the actuator and housing, I assumed he has a CAD, which was on the part time systems but not on SelecTrac. And, if he had SelecTrac, he wouldn't have been able to turn the front driveshaft in 2WD.
  17. The lights on but is it really always in 4WD? It would buck like crazy turning corners if it were.
  18. I'm not sure that the aftermarket is privy to the same stats distributed to the dealers.............
  19. interesting.......made in Israel. http://www.motoradusa.com/about-us/ Oy vay!!
  20. I've had to warranty 4 Napa/Stanton superstats. OEM stats are now MotoRad.
  21. Any ticking noises with the cold start rough running?
  22. Doubt you will find a regulation factory thermostat at the auto parts store. Part # 83501426 is the one you need. Actually, 52028186 is thermostat only, with no gaskets, and about $8 cheaper. Same stat.
  23. I've installed 4 of them with no issues.
  24. Posts 10 and 11 confirm the presence of gas in the oil.
