  1. Nice underhood light switch. Kinda "retro"......
  2. Yep. Early 70s. Had one for a parts delivery truck when I worked at a BAP/Geon store. No Mazda rotary trucks for the last 40 years.
  3. On the passenger side firewall is a black tube traveling down behind the battery and into the back side of the passenger side front bumper. That hose gets cracked, eaten by battery acid etc. I generally move the "ball" from the bumper up into the engine bay not far from where the black line enters the firewall. On Renix Jeeps, mounting it to the bottom side of the metal plate which holds the coolant bottle works very well.
  4. That's great. BUT, it is not the advice the OP needed in this case. This is only one example of how irresponsible posting can sidetrack things for folks who are hoping to get sound advice.
  5. I understand. Things got side-tracked in this thread.........Hence post #17. You've just driven home my point. Sorry about that. Find a good used TB. Check it for wear in the throttle bore. (Not common BTW). Install it with a new gasket, set the TPS and you're on the way.
  6. Not really. Those are known issues which if not addressed can cause owners to chase their tails replacing parts all willy-nilly. High success rate in fixing Renix Jeeps. Proven so. They need to be addressed first to be sure they aren't the problem. Free and less than an hours work.
  7. Could be that someone messed with the stop screw and backed it out too far. That allows the butterfly to eat into the throttle bore. When material is worn from the bore, air can pass around it and there's no fix but replacing it.
  8. Joking, while giving advice to someone who MAY not know better is irresponsible. Many of the new guys don't understand the difference. I didn't see it as a joke. Maybe that's because I'm familiar with carnuck's M.O: Show up periodically and blast answers into every post he can find, accurate, applicable, or NOT. Besides, carnuck always has a lame excuse for why he did something like this. This time it's joking. Next time it will be something else. He creates a bunch of work for others as they follow around hurriedly to clean up his messes before some poor bloke takes the advice. It's not all wrong advice by any means. But LOTS of it is.
  9. And, it's a cavalier suggestion without knowing the OP's real issue with the throttle body. Sheesh!!
  10. The “this worked for me” advice. Try some diagnostics on your own to determine the cause. Just because my ride does ____________ and I did __________ to fix it, should actually mean nothing to you, unless of course you just like wasting money.
  11. That's a simple solution to a complex problem. Or do I have that backwards? Who knows? Ever since the "event" things just ain't the same.
  12. Click on the link in my signature and go to post 10. Try that first.

  15. Not worth it. BIG hassle.
  16. What's wrong with your throttle body?

Yep. Is that what they used to pull down the Saddam Hussein statue in Baghdad?
  19. The 424 made it more fun. I ran in 2 most of the time and switched to 4 for technical stuff. With the auto-clutch, that thing was a blast in sticky situations. It was my first ATV also. Later had a Warrior and Raptor.

I had an M543A1 military wrecker crane. 6 wheel drive. 22,000 pound winch on the front and a 45,000 pound winch on the rear. What a frickin blast.
  21. I loved my Wolverine. Had the cable operated front axle disconnect.
  22. What's your CPS output voltage in AC volts? Refreshed your engine bay connectors?
  23. Possibly needs to be broken in more...
  24. BG44K in a full tank of gas. Run til 1/2. Fill again. Run til 1/4 tank. Injectors will be clean.
