  1. Like I find most things. I stumble into them. Was here in Prescott for years and I knew about it. Gave $500 for it.
  2. Just for fun, here's a link to my album from the AMC Owner's show in Sedona, Arizona years back. The AMX is the prototype. Not for the 3 of course.... https://imgur.com/a/spPds
  3. Yes. This helps prevent it though. http://cruiser54.com/?p=211
  4. Things come full circle. Didn't the Italians play a big part in the development of that car?
  5. Mine. Not my first Alfa Romeo. Very cool and ahead of its time. Poor man's Ferrari.
  6. Hope to fire it off in the next few days.
  7. That is largely or exclusively due to the size of the passage in the distro block being .050". XJ prop valve is .100" as is the ID of the brake lines. No more restriction of fluid to the front brakes. Nice mod, eh? I found that out when I went from distro to T fitting quite by accident. Already had the dual diaphragm booster and the adjustable prop valve for the rear. Getting rid of that restrictive distro helps braking immensely.
  8. 53005085 from Crown is plenty long without cruise control.
  9. Refresh the ground at the firewall. The braided strap. remove, scrape to bare metal, clean it up and bolt it back together. Super important as it is the ground for numerous sensors.
  10. Possibly stores MAP reading also. But, it isn't relearning now. Something else is wrong.
  11. Too funny!!!!!
  12. Probably a coincidence. check the starter relay's connections.
  13. Yup, I do. http://cruiser54.com/?p=121
  14. Here's how the factory suggests you shift the transfer case and I've been doing this since these things were new and I worked at the dealership. Quoted from the owner's manual. The suggestions in CAPS are mine. "To engage, shift the transfer case lever from 2H to 4H while the vehicle is moving at any legal speed". I LET OFF THE GAS, THROW THE LEVER, TAP THE GAS AND LET OFF. 4L position: " To engage, slow the vehicle to 2-3 MPH , shift the transmission to Neutral, then shift the transfer lever to the right and pull firmly rearward to 4L". TO SHIFT OUT OF 4L, SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL WITH THE VEHICLE STOPPED, SHIFT THE TRANSFER CASE LEVER TO 2H, THEN THE TRANS TO D IF YOU HAVE AN AUTOMATIC, OR INTO FIRST GEAR WITH A MANUAL, AND CONTINUE ON. Revised 11/20/2014
  15. We'll figure this out. No worries.
  16. Pretty fast is great!!!
  17. If it doesn't pass air, that's good. You don't want it hanging open at the wrong time. How fast does your O2 sensor switch rich lean, rich lean?
  18. I meant through the valve itself. As if it could be hanging open.
  19. should be okay then. Are your lips black now?
  20. Could be. Can you blow through it?
  21. That's where I would start. Here's a two-fer for ya. http://cruiser54.com/?p=249 And then there's this. http://cruiser54.com/?p=35
  22. Hallelujah!!!! Speaking of extra hands while using a voltmeter, check this out. do it by yourself with your smart phone and bluetooth. http://www.southwiretools.com/tools/tools/13090T
  23. Many times completing the first tips solves issues.
  24. Good point. Us old guys with the good tech info are not stooping down to the farcebook crowd. If you want bells and whistles and warm and fuzzy, or inaccurate info, this is not the place to be.
