  1. What made you decide to try it out?
  2. As others have echoed, theres a lot of information available by searching on the forum. With that said, its a BIG endeavor, especially with the 86. The 86 will require a lot of firewall beating/modification. Additionally, you will have to do a lot of cutting on the front of the engine bay to fit the 4.0 radiator/radiator support.
  3. That's what I have on my 86. The bracket to attach the compressor was an absolute beyotch to source. It will be tough. Ill PM you.
  4. Sweet. Looking forward to when the seat brackets are available.
  5. Is the electric strip (can't think of the real name for it) on the back compatible with non idiot light clusters?
  6. Good deal. Guess they're wrong. Thanks.
  7. I had asked if it was master cylinder only as I have contacted several sellers on ebay selling the mopar part, under that serial number. They all stated it was master cylinder only.
  8. Serpentine uses one belt to power all of the engine pulleys. V Belt setup uses multiple, thinner belts.
  9. 1986 had both V Belt and serpentine models. Which one of these setups do you have?
  10. Thats just the master cylinder, correct? Not the whole master/slave assembly?
  11. With the 86, do you have a serpentine or V belt system? That will help clear things up as well. Sourcing the brackets for the v belt set up was a real pain.
  12. The Delphi one is a misprint. It is for the XJ and will not fit correctly in the MJ. Your best bet is the junkyard or posting a want ad here on the forum. There's a guy in Indiana who had (has?) several 2.5 senders.
  13. That won't/shouldn't effect anything. Especially not in the manner he is experiencing. EDIT - the engine shouldn't matter. The year will. I didn't read thoroughly.

  15. Same thing happened to me a few months ago. It ended up being the slave.
  16. Well, is this a vehicle you plan on keeping? Even if you're not, theres only so many left. I just would hate to see it rot completely away, eventually.
  17. Do you plan on addressing it, at some point?
  18. Something that some folks could consider is cutting the weld off of the donor assembly's bracket. The brake assembly and the switch bracket have holes drilled, in both of them, that line up perfectly. You could then bolt up the bracket to your truck's assembly, using those pre-drilled holes.
  19. And, as usual, you would be correct. I thought the fuse was good... And it was not. You saying that made me check it again. Brake lights work. Thanks. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  20. Alright so.. Maybe I could have had that flat spot on the push rod machined correctly. I say that because I wired in a plunger switch and still no brake lights. Rear turning signals work fine as do the rear lights.. Just no brake lights. To ensure the switch wasn't bad, I connected the brake switch wires together (as it's just an open/close) and still no luck. Any ideas as to a fix? I did have functioning brake lights before. 21. I just finished swapping in a 96 XJ brake booster. Like some on here, I didnt have brake lights after the swap. I guess I ground too much material on the booster rod off. Either way, I've tried spacers, adding more material, removing more material, etc etc and I can't get the flat spot just right to activate the brake switch. At this point I'm tired of messing with it. Has anyone added a plunger style switch to their braking system? If so, how did you do it? In one thread, I saw where a guy had taken the bracket from a 95 XJ and wired in the 95 switch that way. I am hoping there is another way to do it, besides that, so I don't have to go searching for brackets. I'm open to any suggestions.
  22. I thought only the 86s had all capital letters
