This is what my break in oil looked like. Was supposed to only be 500 miles, ended up closer to 3000. Whoops. Wal-Mart 85w-140 I think is what I used. Junkyard tranny that got new synchros and seals, oil had all kinds of metal (ferrous) in it and the pan looked like a glitter bomb had hit it (brass). I think I'll stick to the proper weight from now on. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

Should be the same as far as I know. Most of the parts are 81-95 XJ cross listed. I bought mine mostly off rock auto with exception of the heater core. Shipping and tax everything came to $499.77. Not cheap but I'm tired of sweating (and more importantly single during the summer). Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

The time has finally come for Rambo to get A/C reinstalled (not a moment too soon either, it's warm down here in the swamp!). I'm doing a complete conversion to 134a and removing/replacing as much of the factory system as I can to hopefully eliminate contamination and issues later. So far I have: - All Pro (APDI/PRO) A/C Condenser 7014173 - Four Seasons Refrigerant Hoses 56279 & 56278 - GPD A/C Compressor and Component Kit 9722328 which includes: A/C system O-rings and seals 1321292 A/C expansion valve 3411290 A/C Receiver Drier/Accumulator 1411539 A/C Compressor 7511574 -Crown Automotive Heater Core 56000049 (I know not needed, but I figured if I was pulling the dash I'd replace it anyways) -Four Seasons Evaporator Core 54812 Now my questions: Is there anything else I've overlooked? I already have the new heater hoses from the '96+ (?) Cherokee to eliminate the heater valve. Has anyone used the Omix-Ada severe-duty condenser? http://www.vintagejeepparts.com/products/55036779_Condensor%2C-Severe-Duty%3B-91%252d96-Jeep-Cherokee-XJ.html It's around $200 depending on where in the internet you look, wasn't sure if it was physically bigger or what. I would think that the climate I'm in would warrant such a thing if it were though...... And where is the cheapest place to get roughly 4lbs of 134a? The local shop wants nearly $100 for it! And that's after they charge $600 for the labor to install everything (although I think I'm gonna do the underdash stuff this weekend if I can). Thanks!

Passing through and low and behold, it's a running driving 4x4 for $750! https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/permalink/661969997327194 Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

A half ton pickup with the trailer should be fine. I prefer the full trailer over the dolly as you don't have to worry about tires on the towed vehicle or the automatic transmission locking up. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

NOS "56007219" 2-Door PW/PL Switch Panels (Black)

Is the wiring already in place for this swap? (I know I should do a search but everyone is already here!) -
map sensor operating voltage??
Tex06 replied to DirtyDeeds's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The M90 is the stock supercharger on the 3800 Series GM motors, correct? -
Same issue I had. Real PITA, although I got real good at 2nd gear take-offs and rolling stops, lol. Get ya a jy AX-15 and swap 'em out or pull and rebuild if that's an option. Your 1st gear synchro is likely shot.

T case vent I think. Connects to the top of the transfer case. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

Got the truck with 207k on it and a first gear that didn't like to stay in. Drove it 5,000 miles like that before I had enough of having to start in 2nd. My last truck was an '05 GMC Canyon that at 143,000 miles when sold still had the original clutch in it. Grabbed about halfway up too, no slipping!

Best deal I found last year for a master kit: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BZ9OP3W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 $150 shipped. Rebuilt mine and going strong 3000+ miles later.

Vacuum leaks in the blower circuit
Tex06 replied to Tex06's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I like that idea Don! Did you get you 944 canister from the jy or flea-bay? I'm gonna see what one of the other guys did with his non-cruise MJ and if that doesn't look good I'll probably see if I can find an old "coffee can" vacuum canister that will fit (lincolns and fords used them up until the 70s). It looks like it's only a single port canister, is that correct? In case I go with a plastic one, I need to have the right number of ports on it. -

Sorry to resurrect the dead, but did you ever get a pic? I've got a non-cruise truck and need to do something about mine. -
Vacuum leaks in the blower circuit

Under the bumper.... no wonder I wasn't finding it. I was looking near the fender, lol. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk -
I think I know what's going on here but would like to see if anyone else has had this problem. I had a few issues with my vacuum harness going to the A/C and heater controls in my '92. Patched them up as best I could, mostly broken or cracked lines. Also did the heater valve delete. Now, when the lines were completely broken I found that the default position for the blower is the defrost setting (all air goes to the windshield, none thru the vents). Now my vents work fine at idle or constant speed but when accelerating I lose most of, if not all of my air to the defrost vents. I know I'm losing vacuum (as well as less coming from the engine under load) and that's causing the vents to go back to their "default" setting. My question now is will a vacuum canister solve this? Or am I missing a canister possibly?

intermittent Starting issues
Tex06 replied to kill_burst's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well, not my area of expertise. Doing cruisers grounding tips is the best thing to start with. If that doesn't do it, I'd get a multimeter the next time it doesn't start and check voltages at sensors. Not only will this verify proper voltage but it will serve to refresh your connections as well. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk -

A good place to start is here: http://comancheclub.com/index.php?/topic/13447-What-is-the-most-important-tip-you'd-share-with-MJ-owners? You have a Renix motor which is different from the '91-92 4.0L. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

Because Chrysler didn't design it that way! [emoji14] In all honesty, as long as it doesn't over tighten it should be an improvement. Too tight and it will accelerate wear on the whole timing set. Where that happy medium is is anyone's guess though. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
