The pictures are big so I made them thumbnails.
It's an '86 2wd 2.8L in the JY. I hoped it had the 904 cause I need torque converter bolts, but that's no 904. Just curious.
Well, the issue was just with burning through. Between the flux-core, and the thick wire, I couldn't weld the thin sheetmetal but at 1/2 an inch at a time, and as fast as I could move. Thank you for the suggestion though!
Tourists at the stables I work at always try to feed the horses straw and I want to smack them. :fool:
Then again, every movie I've seen calls straw "hay".
I juiced up the wire speed and got her started. Not pretty, but it's working!
(The metals from an extra Toyota fender I had laying around)
Thanks for the suggestion DC, and thanks for the other suggestions everyone!
Apparently (some one clarify this for me) there is another Jeep out there that the OEM front shocks measure out perfectly for a 3" lift. I believe it's a Wagoneer from some year. Someone help me out?
Edit: Thought I read OEM, not OME.
Much nicer! Thank you! I'll check my checking account and see what I can do.
'78 Toy 2wd Pickup. I got it for free on Thursday and have fixed it up quite a bit in the 2 days I wasn't on a trip.
I remember discussing this Jeep. It was the one on either 33s or 35s with 4:10s. We couldn't decide if it was actually involved in JeepSpeed cause apparently they don't allow MJs due to their wheelbase.
Spendy!
On the lowest setting is still eats through, but I never tried cranking the wire speed. It never came to mind.
For prices like that, I'll sure try!
Thanks all!
Yeah, it's not a Comanche, but I need to do some floor repairs, and only have a 220V flux-core welder (because I don't have a gas tank). Last time I tried (on another truck) it was a disaster and I just kept burning through everything.
I just got the truck and it was cut like this:
Will pop rivets hold? Will they seal? Isn't there a sheet metal bond cream thing? Thinner wire?
You'd probably be able to find a rust free one in AZ, but do you want to lose this one? Some people have huge connections with their trucks, and other people see things as there always being another truck to build. That should be your main decider, if you ask me.
Don't lift the back. All the peeps from Cali'll love it...
7.5" lift front. :dunce:
