totally agree that people have done it but the everyday person isnt throwing coilovers and/or bypasses on their MJ lol. -

in my opinion pre-runner and rock crawler suspensions are pretty different. so may want to pick a direction and go that route. -

i noticed better throttle response right away. between that and the peace of mind of having a rev limiter on the renix, id definitely do it again. -
Buying an MJ with no title?
89eliminator replied to VorTekX's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
i bought a rig out of GA that (long story short) had no title. I lived in Carroll County at the time but i would assume its the same for any county in IN. You have to file for a court ordered title. There are are a few forms to fill out, with one needing a visual VIN inspection buy an authorized person (the office in my neighborhood was able to do it). I had to have a public notification in the local paper that I was attempting to file for a new title, and then I had to go in front of a judge for it. I had to describe how I purchased the vehicle, with proof, along with what measures I took to try and get the title from the PO. Every one of these items costs various amounts of money. After you do all of this, you can then officially submit for a new title that they will send in the mail. Knowing what I know, I would never buy a rig without a title. It was way too much of a hassle and many trips to the BMV/city hall. -

sadly no i don't. i ran them like 12 years ago lol.

i think you'll still have big issues with the shackle swinging forward. something is really not right. i ran the 4.5" rustys springs many moons ago and they werent even close to that bad in relation to the shackle angle.

Long arm suspension system
89eliminator replied to zomeizter's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
that would surprise me as the unibody rails get vastly different after the stock trans crossmember location. -
whats with these dual rate coil springs?
89eliminator replied to MancheKid86's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
they help keep the coil seated depending on how much travel you have. -

wouldnt the rear arms be nowhere near long enough to go into an MJ? XJ-MJ is a big wheelbase difference. Ironman makes great products but i would think this kit would take way more then "a little tweaking" -
i can't believe you lifted a 2wd Jeep!!!! looks great can't wait to see it with some air under the tires.

36x40 pole barn i had built this winter. I have to still run electric but its good enough to work out of, especially since most my tools are M18. -
Yes, i've bought another Comanche. Over the last year or so I've purchased/sold 2 other very clean MJs. Both had already been modified by the previous owners and I realized that I much prefer to have a clean slate to start a build with to put my own touches on. I saw this new one posted on a Comanche facebook page. Was only 4 hours from me and the deal was way too good to pass up. I am now the owner of an 88 4.0/auto Pioneer longbed. It has a dana 44 rear with heavy duty leaf springs. Full power interior, bucket seats, and best of all absolutely zero rust. This will be a slow build but my plans are a slight lift and keep it my street ride.
