Very nice looking long bed!

Well a little update to the no longer "budget" build. I ended up sending my truck to the shop for new shoes. Decided on 31x10.50 MTs. While it was in there i had them install my coil spacer, a 1 inch lift shackle, and 4 new shocks. I went with Rough Country shocks because of the price. So far I am very happy with how it all turned out. The truck has a very nice stance now and is nice and level. Before is on the bottom.

I'll be following this thread as I have a feeling I will be doing the same soon. Cabot ATO is awesome, I work for Valspar and that is one of our brands. -

Great looking build! Which floor pans did you go with, so I know to stay away. As I will be ordering some this year.

MJ backerboard and Sub setup

Welder and shielding gas are on order, so hopefully jumping into fixing the rusted out cab corner and rocker panels. I plan to weld in 2x3 square tubing in place. Once I get the welding done, it will be onto getting the body ready for paint. Once the exterior is painted, I plan to tear into the interior and fix the floor pans as well. Went to the JY and scored a very nice set of door panels to replace the burgundy ones. The old ones were half way on and these make it feel a lot nicer in the cab. Also ordered a set of 4 hole injectors from DirtyJeepGuy and will get those installed as soon as they come in. [/url]

Very clean MJ! -
I used a long magnet to fish the bolt through the holes, got a box wrench on it, and put the nut on. I put the nuts on the outside instead of on the inside, as it made it so much easier to do.

I went to Harbor Fright and got a cheap O Air Hammer. This really helped with getting the stuck bolts off and finally got the FEY bumper mounted. I still have to connect the license plate lights.

Took this guys kind words and took the Fender Flares off. I went to the JY and scored a set of Rear Flares from a 2 door XJ. So I felt a little more confident in taking the flares off and not having to worry too much about getting them back on. As you can see the drivers side was pretty wrecked and as were the Flare mounting brackets. I'll spend some time this week getting the holes filled in and sanded smooth. Now that they are off, I will also paint the flares and get them in good shape. I have an extra set of flares if anyone is interested!

Fey Mounting Bracket Picture
Mattman6 replied to Mattman6's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks guys! I just went outside and realized my problem. So after fooling with it this afternoon and this evening. I got it on. It helps to put the brackets on correct! Thanks again for the pics! -
I am having difficulty getting my FEY bumper installed. Can anyone provide some picture of 1. brackets mounted at the Frame 2. Brackets mounted inside the bumper 3. Bracket mounted to frame without the bumper installed. It's kicking my butt and I have a feeling it's a simple solution. So any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the advice! I will look into getting a punch or air hammer down in there.

Finally got some time to work on the truck. Lately I have had other home improvement things occupying my time and just been driving it about once a week. Today I finally got the old busted up FEY bumper off. It really was a PITA, broke pretty much every single bolt, but at least it's off. Any feedback on the best way to get the stuck bolts out? I suppose drilling them out will be the best way to do it. I installed the passenger A-Pillar and OH Sh*t handle. I also did a little bit more body work. I ordered a replacement cab corner from NorthWoods off the For Sale forum and plan to get setup with this MIIG welder in about a month or so. Once I get the welder, the real fun will start  http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200631880_200631880

Comanche Pioneer Decals
Mattman6 replied to Mattman6's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
Well I got the cut file and worked on making a set last night. It doesn't look like is going to be too hard to do. Depending on the colors and if you want higher quality vinyl the price will be around the $175 mark. Currently I have two colors that I got to trial it. Oracal Middle Grey and Oracal Black Gloss are the two colors I have currently. You can look at other colors and really get what you want at that price. I will PM everyone as well. -
I really am liking the look of the Napier flares and have been thinking about going that route. I just wasn't going to mess with them just yet. I'll get to them down the road. This truck is essentially my beater so fender flares that are currently attached securely aren't really a concern right now. I didn't take them off because I didn't want to fool with them just yet. It's a slow process for me but I think it'll work itself out in the end.

Thanks for the kind words.

Finally got around to getting the bed prepped and sprayed with the Upol Raptor liner. Spent a few hours the other day sanding the entire bed down and also the Fiberglass bondo I put over the existiing holes that were on the bed rail from the PO. I decided to do the liner on the bed rail as well. I think it came out really good. I used three of the four bottles to do about 2 coats. I am going to use the last bottle hopefully this weekend to spray the tailgate and possibly lay another coat on it. Really great product, that covers pretty awesome. Especally for the price! Enjoy! The pic of the entire bed is actually only the first coat. It got too dark to get an entire picture of 2 coats dried.

Comanche Pioneer Decals

I will work on pricing and see what I can come up with. Ill keep everyone in the loop on this! -
In the near future I will be making a set of these decals for my truck. My wife has a vinyl machine and she is going to cut them in house. I am posting to see if there is any interest in making some for other MJs on this site. If there is enough interest I will work on a price for these and all. Let me know what you guys think, because it seems like this decal isn't exactly reproduced anywhere else online.
