I bought a kit and did my long bed with it. I used three bottles for the bed and that was roughly 3 coats. So I would say 5 bottles would do the cab and the bed. Might could get away with 4 for both, but you will be stretching it.

Took some time today and bed lined th bottom half of the MJ. My plan was too put two costs of Rust Oleum bed liner and top coat with the one thing of raptor liner I had left over from my bed. Well after mixing up the raptor liner and attempting to spray it wouldn't spray. I cleaned the gun several times and tried everything. Long story short, I wasted a whole bottle of raptor liner and ended up going to advance auto to get a can of Duplicolor. It actually worked really well and allowed me too finish the project today.

Beautiful MJ! Great condition! +1 on the glove box wood trim. -
Decided to install the tailgate I picked up from the junk yard. Bottom left corner needs some attention, but other than that it is rust free and even has the stock latch!

Got the passenger 2x6 welded in today

Spent more time working on the body today. Filled in a dent that's been there forever. Also decided to re weld my brackets that hold my fender flares on. Couldn't get some of the studs to line up, so along the top I just used a bolt, nut, and washer to snug it to the body. Worked out pretty good if I do say so myself! Also got the passenger side rocker cut out. Got my buddy coming over again to weld it in tomorrow. After welding it in, I plan to raptor line from the body line down and also the fender flares.

Knocked out the bondo work today and primed it. Bedside is closer to being paintable. Also took some under coating to my fender wells. Next step is cutting out the rocker on this side and weld in the 2x6. After that it's downhill in getting prepped to paint.

Haven't posted in a while. I'm still going at it. Haven't worked on the MJ in a while other than just driving it about once a week. Still running good. I finally decided to tackle the passenger bedside. Cut out the rot, painted with POR-15, and welded in a piece of metal from Lowe's. My welds look pretty bad as I didn't realize my Gas for my welder was out. I just thought I didn't know what I was doing. Lesson learned! Anyways here are some pics. I ran out of sand paper today for DA sander, so I plan to knock the fiberglass bondo down this week and prime it. I also plan to get my passenger rocker cut out this week.

Windshield Replacement options
Mattman6 replied to skidoo_j's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Move to SC replacing a windshield is free under insurance with a zero $ deductible :brows: -
Mine did this the other night. I played around with the rocking of the lights and it finally cut off with the doors closed. I think it's a bad connection at the lights for me. It sure was eerie pulling into my driveway seeing the manches lights on for no reason.

Mattman6 replied to Dirtyrussian08's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
And I thought my truck was bad. Wow! Not sure if you should even be driving it with the rear leaf about to literally come off the unibody. Good luck -
I am cutting some off an MJ this weekend at the pull a part. I need the Passenger side but could at least cut you the drivers as well. You would have to let me know how much you need and just compensate me for the panel and shipping/some of my time. It really shouldn't be much work for on my end. Let me know.

I believe that when you list how to be contacted you should answer those communications. Why list a phone number if you aren't going to answer your phone? I think the easiest way to weed at the scammers is to talk to them on the phone. Almost none of the scammers will actually call you, because they are usually not even from this country. A sure fire way to spot a scammer is when they want to send you a money order or check through the mail. Because they usually will ask you to "ship" the truck before the check clears or ask to send you a check for double your asking price and then ask you to give them cash back. Answer your phone, tell them to come take a look at the truck at a neutral ground, and tell them cash only. That's a pretty easy way to put the scammers at rest. You do realize you listed a rarer truck and a lot people are willing to go long distances for them? So of course you are going to get out of area codes and I believe in this age of cell phones, out of area codes aren't that uncommon for people that may just live next door to you.

You got it!

About once a week I go to Ebay and search "Jeep Comanche NOS" usually gives me a good bit of listings of stuff. That's a good start.

I bought one as soon as I saw this thread. Now it looks like I shouldn't even waste my time.

So how come this worked for one member but wouldn't work for you?

I'm down in Barnwell, about an hour south. I likely won't be needing the camper shell. Yes I know where it is. I used to live in Aiken for a few years while in college. Let me know if you end up letting it go. I'd come down and get it off your hands.

Looks I found one of my next purchases! Thanks for sharing the pictures

Where at in SC are you? I would interested in the camper shell with it being a Long bed. I am out of Columbia.

Replacement gas tank for 89 comanche
Mattman6 replied to Virginia's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It's a pretty easy install. Just make sure to have a near empty tank when you go to swap it. I would also go ahead and change the fuel filter while you are working on it all. -

Yes it's the backer board (I guess that is what it's called) . Here is a pic of one I just picked up. It's uninstalled but gives you an idea.
