  1. Wow look at you guys and your fancy-schmancy radios ;) I still have a late-1980s vintage pull-out deck [not faceplate, but entire deck] with cassette player in my dash. It worked until this past winter and now I listen to the music of tires on pavement. Still have a Van Halen Diver Down cassette that works in it [well, until the deck went casters-up, that is].
  2. If its truly a TD, may turn some impressive fuel economy numbers.
  3. Well there's the problem- there's a speaker magnetized to the underside of the truck... well that and a few other 'minor' issues are what's wrong. At least the coil springs and shocks are clean- the rest is for recycling.
  4. Situations that involve firearms aside, I see the 'angry eyes' around here from time to time, usually on a rig in the under-30 crowd. It doesn't bother me since I know its a limited fad on certain types of headlights. On the other hand, tinted taillights are a danger; I almost took out a late 90s Maxima a few weeks ago with the sun glaring on the lenses and actual brake lights were baaaaaaaarely able to be seen. Now that that's out of the way, the harmless exterior mod we need to see more of is... Miata teeth! :rotfl2:
  5. So, did you get the bulbs replaced?
  6. Thread with pics: http://comancheclub.com/topic/40020-rear-sliding-window/ Item I purchased in Feb 2012: http://www.amazon.com/C-R-LAURENCE-Duo-Vent-1986-1992-Comanche/dp/B004ARJXUM Note the above amazon item has increased in price since I bought it; it was $151 +$27 shipping back then.
  7. I went with an air horn wired to a separate button- very piercing sound and is an attention getter. There's enough room behind the grille to mount the trumpets and mini compressor.

    Oh My Gawd

x2 on the magnesium chloride corrosion; I have a set of Escape wheels and a set of LeSabre wheels that say that stuff is bad for aluminum.
  9. Autocross rig? 24 Hours of Lemons rig? I agree, it must have been a fun toy. There's still a few of those old AMCs running around here, but becoming longer and longer between spotting them.
  10. I mowed my back and side yards for the first time since October this past weekend since the crabgrass was getting long and unsightly. I use a heavy old 1950s vintage Follows & Bate Ltd. 14" reel mower and have a late-model Scotts 20" reel mower as back-up. The Scotts mower is lighter and flimsier, and only used for when the grass is not too thick/heavy. It takes a while to mow with the old mower, but the lawn is golf-course smooth when I'm done. With the reels I don't have to use gas or worry about recharging or mowing over a cord, which is nice.
  11. Thanks for your pics Jeff. They were a great help. Glad I could assist.
  12. Wowee! Which one was that?
  13. Looks good, and to boot you're not using the top shock mount like I am with the Addco bar on mine.
  14. I have to ask the obvious questions since I did not see them already in the thread. Apologies if I missed them. -Are the tires aired up? -Hauling a bunch of stuff in the bed? -Filters not blocked up [fuel, air]? -Fluids at their proper levels? [gearbox, diff, engine oil, etc.]? -Exhaust plugged [bad cat, etc.]?
  15. Check my 2012 review of the CRL window on Amazon. I have not had any leaks, squeaks, or rattles with it yet.
  16. Cherokee ones worked for me. Be aware of two legnths of sunvisors.
  17. Loose how? Any loose steering components is asking to put your rig in to a ditch or wrapped around a tree. Edit, saw your double-post. This should help on the repair: http://www.elcaminocentral.com/showthread.php?t=27192 Another good resource is http://comancheclub.com/topic/37167-loose-steering-wheel-fix/?hl=tilt+column&do=findComment&comment=373470 You will want to get on this repair- you don't want to be wrapped around a tree as stated above. As it is you'll have difficulty turning the ignition and engaging the high-beams when the tilt mechanism bolts work themselves loose.
  18. A shame indeed. Mine hasn't failed yet but is loud when I turn off the truck and it resets. Cheapest one I've found on Amazon after cross-referencing other makes/models is a shade over $38, not including shipping.
  19. That's the guy I got mine from. My final headliner (third one after his working out some fitment issues) fit beautifully and looked awesome until I tried to put a large picture frame behind the seat and put a gash in it.
  20. My $0.02 on the coil spacers: Get replacement coil spring isolators too while you're at it. I went with rubber isolators instead of poly due to the cost when I put in my Rocky Road 1" spacers a few years back; the old isolators I replaced were squishy and spongy after 20 years.
  21. To update, that part number on autopartswarehouse has risen in four years to $114.50.

    Hi Everyone

Welcome. Lots of great resources can be found here.
  23. Dead thread revival! :) Anyone have any pics of seats mounted to the bed of their MJ with seat belt/sharnesses? I like the bedryder idea above but this could be home-built for far less.
  24. That Syclone is super sick- the splitter... the radiator in the bed... the insane acceleration. Wow! Makes me want to dig out my copy of Forza 4. Also, this is my 1000th post. Yay me.
  25. 3.38/g when I tanked up two days ago.
