  1. 89 Pioneer 4x4 4.0 170k everything original except AW4. Before paint
  2. I have been soaking the front end the past couple of days with PB. I had most of my front end apart 6 months ago to so the bolts shouldn't be too bad. I plan on my sway bar links breaking though... :fs1:
  3. Yeah doesn't seem worth it at all. Thanks for your response.
  4. Does the H.O. head offer better compression than the Renix?
  5. Why can't I use my stock shocks with a 2" spacer?
  6. I was wondering if swapping the H.O. head on my 89 4.0 would be worth it. Also is there a good write up somewhere on this? I tried searching with no luck.
  7. Check this out, I used this before it works awesome. I didn't even think of it until you mentioned the epoxy. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=11249&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&storeId=11151&storeNum=10104&subdeptNum=10296&classNum=10300
  8. Have you tried West Marine for the epoxy you can't find anymore? I bought some patch kit there before for a Jet Ski and it was the best product I ever used.
  9. Yeah me either that's why I expected to find a damaged valve or bad timing. My best guess is that maybe the floats were set to high and let a little too much gas in the head allowing it to pop and flame. So do you think I should use a brazing rod I have for HVAC pipe? I know this rod melts at around 1200 degrees.
  10. Any autozone or advance auto parts stores have them in the HELP section. They are identical to the MJ socket but I don't think you will find any part#s for it. They are black in a yellow box for $4.99 Ford.
  11. It is metal, so I will prolly just use some gas tank repair putty from Autozone for now. The holes are literally the size of a pen tip but leak enough to make a mess. I was thinking about maybe brazing them for a more permanent fix, but I'm afraid of the thing blowing up from fumes. Anyone have any input on that?
  12. :clapping: Sooo true
  13. Water pump bearing went bad when it overheated.. :wavey:
  14. So my ATV gas tank is leaking so I googled gas tank repair and found a shops web site. As I was reading their home page at the bottom they had a picture of their building... With a matching paint MJ! http://www.gas-tank.com/
  15. Timing was correct but I found out my idle speed screw was damaged!! So I got the new one today and she fired right up and runs great. I now have a new problem, the gas tank is leaking from a couple small pin holes. :fs1:
  16. Yes, clean inside the throttle body where the IAC goes into also. Look at this site it will show you all the sensors and explain what they do.. http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Engine/Basic_Sensors_Diagnostics.htm
  17. What kind of fluid should I use in my front D30?
  18. You can try it by hand but I really don't think it will be right.. I would try borrowing a voltmeter/multi-meter from someone. Idk about everyone else but my TPS has to be perfect or my truck runs like crap and idles high.
  19. Well my problem is once I take my truck apart and it is non drive-able I have no other way to get to the store. I work on my cars in a tiny PA town where the closest store for any parts is 45min away, and no other way to get there. So I am trying to be prepared and have the bolts before I take the old ones apart. It really s*cks because I can't do any work on my MJ unless it takes less than a long day. :fs1:
  20. Ok seeing as how they are threw bolted I will just buy new ones. Does anyone know what size they are?
  21. If you are looking for something along the lines of an actual car cover then you will have to make something. I would try getting like a universal boat cover from like Walmart and cut and sew to fit..
  22. I need to replace my front shocks in my 4x4 MJ. I will be adding some 2" spacers at the same time. The shock bolts on the axle are very rusted and look like they will break if I touch them. My MJ is my DD and I live at an apartment in MD so I work on it in PA so if something breaks I would be in trouble. Is there any tricks or recommendations for these bolts?

    chain saws...

I stand corrected hornbrod.. Thats what I meant when I was saying to not buy a Husky from lowes. The saw I bought was one of the smallest 18" they had from Sweden and it was at a great price.
  24. I love your truck knever3!
