  1. if you are referring to this article i didn't find anything slamming the stroker. :huh???: http://www.jpmagazine.com/techarticles/engine/154_1111_mopar_stroker_motor_part_2/index.html I support the stroker the build. the article i read they did two different Jeeps with before and after dyno numbers both Jeeps only gained about 25hp and around 50 ft lbs of torque when they were done, IMO not worth the price of a stroker build. it might make sense if you have a ton of money or you have already done everything and your looking for something else to do to your jeep, other then that just take the money you would spend on the stroker and put it into other parts of your jeep.
  2. I think it was JP magazine that just did an article on 4.0l strokers on two different rigs with dyno numbers. From what I read I would have to say its not worth it. The money would be better spent elsewhere.
  3. The first VWs only had 25hp Gearing is more important then HP,you could pedal your truck if you could get enough gearing.
  4. Here is an album of pics from the current build I don't really have any pics of just welds, the Samurai was done using a couple of our Mig machines. We also have a Tig machine, but we haven't set it up yet. I do some of the welding but most is done by my brother who is a certified welder he has been through two different welding schools and is certified to weld pretty much anything.
  5. What happened?
  6. They should be quite a bit different. If you can't use it I would be interested in it,the one in my MJ is bent.
  7. Warranty and repairs is why I buy so much from the tool trucks. They come to me and take care of it,they either fix it or replace it on the spot or they deal with sending it for repair. When I buy a tool I know that one way or another it will be fixed and I don't have to mess with it. It helps me justify the cost since I don't have time to go here or there and mess with warranty or repairs.

    Floor Jacks

I got a new Jack today too
  9. Husky is Stanley which owns MAC so a lot of the Husky and MAC stuff is similiar and sometimes even identical.
  10. I don't think I have ever seen full gauges come with a 2.5l ,I imagine if they did they would swap over the same way 4.0l gauges swap to a 2.5l
  11. I paid $150 for mine.
  12. You don't have a lot of options, even Snap on,MAC,and the other big tool vendors out source a lot of stuff. Its hard to build things here and stay competitive.
  13. I wouldn't keep any of that.
  14. Very little if anything from a 3" lift is going to get reused with a 6" lift.

    E-Cigs

My youngest brother has one,he has been using it for about a year and has completely quit smoking cigarettes. He really likes the huckleberry fluid.
  16. Probably wouldn't take long,I have 2 XJ and my MJ that I could use for measurements and mock up. The only issue I see is I don't have an upright Warn to use,we like to keep the winches in as tight as possable so its nice to have the winch that's going in.
  17. I have Rustys flairs on the front of mine.

    Floor Jacks

I had one of those but a different brand,it worked great on anything it could get under. It was too tall to fit under a lot of cars.
  19. It might help in the winter for better traction on ice and snow, but you wouldn't want it there permanently.
  20. How about some OME930 coils and maybe a small spacer,IMO that's gonna give you the best ride.
  21. I could build you one like that, but with better mounts, recovery points and some extra beef.
  22. Not sure about height of tire off the ground, but she drove 90" up the ramp. If my math is correct with the WB of an XJ at 101" ; 90 / 101 x 1000 = 891 Your math is right,90" up the ramp would put the tire 45" off the ground. That's a lot of flex, there's XJs out there with linked rears that don't score that high. So if it was really a 30 degree ramp that's pretty impressive.
  23. For such a small lift I would just do a coil spacer then you can keep your stock springs and smoother ride.
  24. That would be interesting to see, that would mean lifting a tire around 45" from the ground.
