  1. The Rocky road kits are missing a lot of parts that you would want, once you add everything thier low price is now as high or higher then everyone elses. Thier products are decent but they are usually slow to ship and several people have reported customer service issues. As for BDS I have no experience with them but I have never heard a bad thing about them and they are often recommended.
  2. I saw they posted that today. With the rest of the stuff in the thread you have to wonder about the other side of the story.
  3. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f310/new-iceland-flares-1475500/ here's some more info I found.
  4. From what I understand those are the Iceland offroad flairs. And Notch customs has been court ordered to cease production.. I will have to see if I can find were I was reading about it.
  5. That ones been on CL for a while now.
  6. I made my own, they work great for me but it depends if you need them or not.
  7. Ive never seen any solid numbers for them either. I do know that 297x joints are considered an upgrade for both the ZJ guys and the few XJ that came with them. And from what I have seen many people consider the cv's to be only marginally stronger then a 260x. You are the first person ive heard of that is wheeling on them with any success. I know a guy who was grenading ZJ cv's on 32s and open diffs, he went to 297s a couple years ago and hasn't broken one since.
  8. People often make the mistake of comparing street or strip cars to wheelers. What works for one doesnt always work for the other, the loads applied to parts are different. I personally wouldnt run the ZJ axles with any bigger then maybe a 30" or 31"tire, but maybe they will work for you. FWIW the CVs are comperable strength wise to a stock 260x u joint.
  9. Thats thoughtful of them.
  10. I sent $10 your way.
  11. You could bring it up to the shop,we could put it on the lift and see what it would take to add a mount.
  12. don't know if you want to put the miles on it but what if you found another driver to drive the Charger then get them a plane ticket home. Or store the Charger till you can come get it and drive it back.
  13. I work with a guy that builds electric cars, he has a Datsun 1200 that currently runs 10.2 in the quarter mile.
  14. If you want CVs spend the money on RCVs. Guys on 35s can break 760 joints so I couldnt imagine you being able to wheel very hard on ZJ shafts. You will find that a lot of ZJ guys swap them out for XJ 297 joints or bigger.
  15. You could probably add the upper link mount to your existing crossmember.
  16. Basically a 3 link does everything better then a radius arm. The main reason Y link/radius arms exist is because they are cheaper and easy to make. Rather then changing out your entire system you could remove your upper Y links and just add a 3rd arm.
  17. Sounds like a pretty straight forward swap since your using another MJ for a donor. Just swap everything over from one body to the other. What Cruiser is talking about is if you wanted to keep the entire renix system but use an HO engine, but since you have everything you might as well swap it all over to the HO stuff.
  18. 93-95 base model Camaro
  19. 3.4l would be about the same price as another 2.8l, they are basically the same engine except the 3.4l is newer and bigger. You just bolt your 2.8l parts to it and it bolts right in. 4.0l swap is much more complicated and depending on what you pay for a donor vehicle to do it a lot more money.
  20. Just bolt in a GM 3.4l and be done.
  21. When I was looking it came down to Spartan or Aussie. Both have good reviews and both are about the same price. For me it came down to the Spartan coming with the new cross pin and there seemed to be more places to buy Spartans and get service parts.
  22. You could use a cherokee axle, you just have to move the spring perches. Whats blown about the stock axle? Learning to do gears is a good skill to have.
  23. The biggest difference are the pins and springs. Also the spartan comes with a new hardened cross pin and the other two do not, they have to be ordered seperately.
  24. I'm running Spartans in mine. They have good reviews, are inexpensive, and come with a hardened cross pin.
  25. My first lift kit came with a bracket to allow you to keep it,I still have it somewhere. I bypassed mine then eventually deleted it.
