  1. Depends on if you need a shim kit or a full install kit. $40-$150 depending on brand. I'm gonna guess that you have never set up gears. I hope you know someone who has that can help you.
  2. I didnt have any issues with the Koyo bearings, I just threw that out there since some guys have a preference. Ive known a lot of guys who like Timken and nothing else.
  3. You will have to open up the axle hole in the backing plate so the D44 axle bearing will clear.
  4. I would rethink the 37s. Remember as you beef up your axle you move the weak link inward, the D30 ring and pinion will not like 37s.
  5. here's another pic
  6. Should be a bunch more on my build thread.
  7. What are you doing for a front axle?
  8. Really proper gear set up is more imortant then the brand of the gears. I have US standard gear 4.88s in the MJ which is about a cheap as they come and they have been fine.
  9. I put a set in an LJ Rubicon for Darren ( formerly known as goblazers_6) , the gears were fine but I didnt care for thier install kits. They didnt seem to have enough different shims to make the combination I needed, lucky for me I have a bunch of leftover shim sets at the shop so it wasnt an issue. Also IIRC they supplied Koyo bearings rather then Timken bearings. But for the money they seemed like a good deal, he has been driving and wheeling with them for about a year now with no issues.
  10. We are holding another get together march 16th&17th. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1096725
  11. so maybe a warn 5687 that would make it an 8000lb winch. I will have to see if I can fix it, I'm thinking its just the motor that died. The guy was using it and it just quit.
  12. I recently bought a rig with an old WARN winch, the PO burned it up and just looped the cable around it. I want to figure out what model it is so I can figure out if its worth fixing and so I can get parts. The tag is destroyed but here is some pics.
  13. Thats my buddy from work.
  14. Rough country 6.5" coils.
  15. I went for about a year with 5" up front and stock uppers/lowers. Not ideal but it will drive like that. I would recommend at least lowers and an adjustable trac bar. Also don't forget brake lines, you can pull down the hard lines but your best bet will be longer hoses.
  16. Thanks, it has changed a lot from the stock MJ I brought home originally. The entire time I had the RRO lift I don't think I ever took the sway bar links off.the stock arms were about maxxed out so I figured I was better off just leaving the links hooked up.
  17. It would be cool if they let you test drive the ranger. Electric vehicles are pretty neat to drive around.
  18. http://comancheclub.com/topic/26441-what-non-mj-parts-are-installed-on-your-rig/
  19. I talked to the guy I know whos into EV racing,He said he doesnt know the EV west guys personally but he knows of them. He thinks they would be a good place to have a conversion done.
  20. Same here,i did lots of them when I was younger. I tried getting back into it a few years ago but just don't have the time to dedicate to them.
  21. On mine I decide to just get a non cad axle and bolt it in. I got one piece shafts and big joints for $150.
  22. How about a question to answer your question. Why do people use suck down winches on steep climbs? Answer that then think about how a radius arm works compared to other systems and you will know what unloading is and why its worse with long armed rigs.
  23. Unloading is more of an issue with short wheel base rigs so you probably wouldnt notice as much in a MJ.
  24. Your gonna have better luck asking questions in the tech section,a lot more people will see them then in this section.
