My engine, transmission, and T cases are all poly mounted,my MJ does get driven on the road a little bit but it is primarily an offroad rig. Back when it was my daily driver i always ran rubber mounts.
-
If you loosen the motor mount bolts just a touch the polys will vibrate much less.
-
You have to strip the engine down basically to a long block then redress it as a MPI,even down to the timing cover has to be swapped. Your existing head will accept the MPI manifold, you also must use the MPI flywheel. It is much easier to bolt in a complete MPI engine if you can.

You can buy just the bushings and find some tube that fits the bushings or you can buy a kit with the complete bushing set up,then get a piece of box tube. Copy the bolt locations then notch the box so you can set the tube into it and weld them together. Find some pics on google of some mounts and you will have a pretty good idea how to make some. I usually buy bushings here. http://www.barnes4wd.com/Poly-Bushings-and-Bushing-Kits_c_24.html

The boostwerks one seems to be what most prefer. The Iron man will likely work fine Andy usually makes good stuff, but the boostwerks seems to have extra beef.

I went with a hydraulic hand brake instead of a line lock,i can use it to hold on hills and obstacles or i can flip a lever and it will work like a parking brake. It has never bled off but i still don't trust it long term as a park brake.

If you can fabricate you can make your own very inexpensively. I'm in my poly mounts for around $10 and they are rebuildable.

The eco would be slightly smaller so you could gain some clearance. I have a Behemoth in my MJ which is similar to the eco box,i moved my powertrain up into the cab giving my truck a completely flat belly, nothing hangs below the unit frame. I had to build a new tunnel and part of the floor but the doubler fits between the seats and the half of the rear case sits under the drivers seat.

I know Kris and haven't had problems dealing with him but i have always dealt with him locally. As far as i know his kit is basically a copy of the box 4 rocks, mad rooster,ect..... Personally i would spend a little more and get something like the NW fab black box,the eco kit isn't a whole lot more money and IMO much better than a hacked up 231 case.

I took the MJ to an offroad area with a local group a few weeks ago,the MJ performed very well for its first outing,I didn't get any pics though. Last weekend i hit another 4x4 show,it was a pretty good turn out and my son and I had a good time. If all goes well i will be closing on a house in a few days and i will finally have a garage again, once i get settled i can fix a few more things and finally tackle the supercharger.- 798 replies

Hopefully closing on a house in Sandy at the end of the month, the address is outside of the DEQ boundaries so i will be free of emmisions testing. -

Good old Oregon DEQ,one of my XJs was having problems passing. Even though the O2 seemed good i tossed a new one in it and it flew through DEQ with flying colors. -
I have this 36' toy hauler but i usually tent camp. I'm actually currently living in the toy hauler, with me moving back to Oregon it has been nice having the trailer and not be too rushed into a house in the crappy housing market here. If all goes well i should be closing on a house at the end of the month and i will be able to use the trailer for its intended purpose although i will still likely tent camp most of the time.

The throttle bodies are not the same and will not directly swap.

I needed to drag some cars around at my brothers place so i decided to take the MJ,it's a 2hr drive round trip (about 110 miles) and the MJ performed great. I am still having issues with the clutch slave getting sticky when it gets hot,it's better than it was and never locked up like it did before,i think i need to see if i can bleed more of the old fluid out of it. If that doesn't take care of it I'm going to get a new clutch hydraulic set up and replace everything, currently I'm using a used set up from a YJ.- 798 replies

Anyone ever splurged for this starter...
mnkyboy replied to Jtrux's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That's on my list,if i kill another stock starter I'm going to get one. It's also nice because they don't have a nose cone like factory, currently i run a modified nose cone to clear my inertia ring, the mean green doesn't interfere with it. -

Flywheel and the starter gear look fine, just the clutch in the starter came apart. It just freewheels when i turn the key. It's strange,it had been working fine up till it failed and the starter wasn't all that old,i replaced it just before i took the truck apart. Only crappy thing is that the starter is modified to fit with the inertia ring so now i have to either move the nose cone to a new starter or modify the new starter. Still minor issues so it is what it is,i figured some stuff would pop up after such a big build.- 798 replies
