  1. Hay Farmer, (see what I did there?)... do you have any bigger pics of that red MJ in your profile pic?
  2. Yep those are Jeep rims.

    Photoshop help.

Really? LOL, you have skillz my friend ;) Hey OP, if no one can help, why not print the picture out, then shade it using a pencil? That would get you pretty close.
  4. The 1991 factory service manual which I have in front of me states: The manual has more credibility in my mind than Internet opinions. It says make sure the spring is there and in good shape, then I'll do that. If it stated "the spring is there to assist with factory fill of coolant and can be discarded if the hose is replaced" would be a different ball game. FYI in my opinion the construction of the aftermarket Gates hose that I put in my truck had the same construction as the OEM hose (not including the spring). It did not feel any stiffer or less flexible than the original hose, so in my opinion the spring is required.
  5. The factory service manual says the spring is required, so it should be in place. If you don't have one, get one from the junkyard or make your own (although I don't recommend that). When I swapped my parts a week or two ago, I transferred the spring (and protective sleeve) over to the new hose. I'm not entirely convinced that newer hoses negate the need for the spring. If you were to mount a GoPro under the hood pointed to that hose while driving you could see for yourself, but I chose to just move the spring over and know I'll never have to worry about the hose collapsing.
  6. I've got the full set of DeWalt 20V Max stuff, it's awesome... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0052MIL4S/ Prior to that I had the DeWalt 18V stuff, and before that I had a Craftsman Professional drill. When the charger stopped working and it was going to cost $130 for a new charger I decided to stay away from Craftsman.
  7. How about this, if you don't understand it, just assume it works and leave it alone ;) In theory it's a great thing to have.
  8. I suspect most people remove the load sensing valve because they think it's bad or don't completely understand how it works.
  9. I put Moog sway bar links on mine, plus Moog bushings on the bar. My old ones were rotten so it handled tighter after I was done. Cheap, not rubber (I think it was polymer plastic or something). They fit and work great. I put a little synthetic brake slide grease on mine since it was safe for use with rubber. I see no need for the greasable ones for my driving. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C542SO/ and http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C55Y5Y/ If you're buying bushings for the end links, you should just buy new end links. My nuts snapped off because I had bought bushings already. I had to return them and buy the links.
  10. I've owned both. I prefer standards because you're more connected with the vehicle and have greater control. Autos are good though for around town, and when you have a Comanche with no cup holders LOL
  11. Brake parts are unrelated to death wobble. Tackle the critical DW first, then worry about spending money on brakes later. Track bar is a common problem but it can also be a bunch of other things.
  12. I intend to use my prop valve anyway. Sounds like I can use the master anyway which is good news.
  13. Reeaaalllly? That could be good news for me... hmmm.... Can you post a pic for me?
  14. hornbrod, do you know the part numbers for the master cylinders? ABS versus non-ABS? RockAuto is no help so if I at least have OEM #s it would help.
  15. No it's not simpler. That's why I am trying to do the 95/96 route.
  16. OK I kinda figured. How about the short lines? Can I reuse the ABS MC lines to the block? Hoping so...
  17. Hey hornbrod, as an aside, you don't nearly have enough chrome. Still need to chrome the cab vents, fender flares, and wheels LOL.
  18. Bypass it, I just did that last week. Cleans things up and probably extends the life of your heater core.
  19. I'm on the hunt for a 95/96 XJ brake booster & master cylinder to do an upgrade. Does anyone here know with certainty if the booster and/or master are compatible with my 91 MJ if the XJ one has ABS? I would think the brake booster would still fit, but the master might be different. Thx.
  20. I have a set of 746 injectors for sale, check the for sale forum for details.
  21. MT2500 grille, obviously Chinese stuff there.
  22. 70% antifreeze max, after that you are actually losing protection.
  23. I saw this short clip of an old Maaco commercial that aired recently on Undercover Boss. Boycott Maaco 'cause they damaged a MJ LOL
  24. Yep I've used it on undercarriage parts. Be sure to use a wire brush to get any loose stuff off. I did it on my car that had rusty bits and it has not flaked off at all. I topped it with Rustoleum semi-gloss though. Oh, and I also used it on my rear diff on my 88 MJ, the rust reformer is under the paint:
