  1. Great news!
  2. I hope he didn't have a passenger!
  3. It doesn't really matter if you name the dealer 'cause they're all the same if you catch my drift :fs1:
  4. Well I'm sure I saw MMO locally but I went to Walmart and Canadian Tire tonight and they didn't have it. So in the end I bought Rislone and put that in. It has really good reviews. Maybe I'll put a little Seafoam in the gas tank just for giggles (I did that when I bought the truck).
  5. One other question, is MMO any better than Seafoam in the oil? I've used Seafoam in a car or two in the past (in the oil, gas tank, and vacuum line)
  6. Something I've been thinking about lately. When I bought my truck last year, the PO didn't do really any maintenance at all. He had it about 9 years (friend of a relative, good chap but not a car guy). So I put in new oil and a filter. I strongly suspect he did not have the oil changed for at least 3 years, more than likely it was older than that. Long story short the oil was blacker than hell and I'm pretty sure the oil filter was in bypass mode. Anyway I've put a few thousand km on it now with fresh oil & filter but I'm still thinking maybe I should put an additive in the oil to help clean things up. I'm seeing some posts on Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO). If I was to add say a half quart now and change the oil again in a month does that sound like a good plan? I think the oil is in pretty good shape but I can just imagine there is crud in the engine. Also, is it safe to run the truck daily (and during winter) with 5 quarts regular oil plus 1 quart MMO? I have the oil already to do another oil change, just thinking about my options. Background, I recently swapped gauge clusters so I actually know what's going on with my oil pressure now. At startup and for the first few blocks the oil pressure is pegged high, but after that it is totally normal (I compared the specs to what the owners manual says).
  7. It looks bad but also kind of dangerous. LEDs are directional so point them straight to the rear if you want people to see the light during all weather conditions.
  8. Wow that's tacky and ugly.
  9. Looks very 80's. I wouldn't do it but I've seen worse things :)
  10. Roost426, those are the wrong eliminator decals. Here are the ones you're looking for - http://www.ebay.com/itm/161765018701- only downside is it does not appear to come with the faded stripe below the bodyside molding. Looking forward to updates on this sweet truck!
  11. Those eraser wheels are the bomb.
  12. I just grabbed one from an XJ at the junkyard.
  13. You guys keep saying rubber, I believe the PermaDry gaskets are silicone based. They are total awesomeness, worth the extra $.
  14. Minuit if I was you I'd have the decal reproduced, it makes it unique and original. I like the zig zag SporTruck decals.
  15. Recover the board you have and save your $. Buy a can of Dakota Odor Bomb to eliminate all odor.
  16. Do you not have a board at all to work with? Recover.
  17. Ew that's ugly IMHO plus they removed the cab "vents".
  18. Do you want an original style or aftermarket bumper? I am one province to the right, does the bus ship to another province?
  19. Those are stock turbine wheels.
  20. I'm still not a fan of two tone, but mfpdm's pic is better IMHO. Dark on the bottom around here signals that the truck was rusty and covered up LOL
  21. Is that one of the fancy dual sparkplug engines? LOL @ two distributors:
  22. Nice to see that truck getting fixed up!
  23. Oh I use gloves when working on the vehicles, sometimes fancy Snap-on gloves, or nitrile if I'll get real dirty.
