I think the D44's were long gone by '95... I imagine it has an 8.25, as uncle sam probably didn't get ABS. The keys to an actual municipal prep are the extended idle switch, and the certified 125 MPH speedometer... Other than that, I've seen them with or without carpet, vinyl seats, and the like. Rob
  2. Fleet mechanic for a public works fleet. Basically everything from a weed whip, to a wood chipper, to a police cruiser, to a dump truck, to a front end loader... Sometimes makes for an interesting day. The guys break a lot of stuff. One of the new guys, upon watching some of the repairs we have to do everyday, asked my coworker how it is that we don't have a drinking problem. We did just get in the new fleet of police cars, which are waiting to be upfitted. Looking forward to that. Also the head union steward for the entire public works. Rob
  3. $1.49 a gallon last time we filled up at work. Rob
  4. You are lucky the storm kept me at work, and my phone wouldn't let me upload... I would have gave you a run for it! Rob
  5. I say duplicate them, but with a Comanche Club watermark somewhere on them. Rob

Best MJ storyNot sure that I have a best story. What owner loves best about CC Mainly that it exists. ------------------------------------------------------------------ What a rig. One of the proud few to run the 2.5L and show it as an equally capable power plant. Your truck is a thing of beauty. Built just right, without blowing the bank. You have been a pretty constant presence here on the club for quite awhile. You've always been on to offer advice, or help a member out that needs a hand. It's not just the truck that makes the MJOTM, but the member behind it also. Congrats on your MJOTM. Enjoy the spotlight! Rob  Click here to view the article
  7. Ha! They used Wade's truck as a guide! http://www.forum.mdiecast.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=302594 Rob
  8. That was my first thought also. Rob
  9. The gun laws in the south are so mucj more lax. When I was in tech school, I met an older guy from Jersey. He decided he wanted to do better for himself, and go back ti school after living a sorted past. He had the thickest Jersey accent too. He told us stories about the time he spent in the south before coming into Chicago. The one I will never forget was just after he moved to South Carolina from New York, and called the local pd about the gun laws. This is how I remeber it: 'I'm calling about your gun laws...' 'What questions do you have sir?' 'Is it ok to open carry, or have a pistol in your car?' 'Yessir, it is. Is that all?' 'Wait-so you're telling me I can have a loaded pistol, just laying on the passenger seat next to me?' 'Well what the hell good is it if it's not loaded?' I smile everytime I think of him telling us that in his thick accent. Last I heard he was working on an oil rig on the coast, loving every minute. Rob
  10. Buy it all. Make excuses later. Rob
  11. UPDATE: Jeep says this isn't what will debut... Maybe second thoughts about that front end? I would like a mini Grand. This is far from it. Chrysler ✔ @ Chrysler “ @ jalopnik scoop re @ jeep. 12. http://jalopnik.com/...is-it-335476306 Looks good from the side... but the front, my god the front. Rob
  13. My thoughts exactly. When I leave, if we don't agree on a price, I say if you call me, you will get 'X'. Then I write my name, number, and the amount on the card. Once they get enough people wasting their time, they tend to look at the number on the card as easy money. Learned the trick from an old friend. Works great. Rob
  14. Darn, I was going to offer to sell you all they grey parts in the picture, as well as the dash mat/perfect dash, as well as install with you. I have no use for any of the grey. Rob
  15. Wherr you at macho?
  16. I have never been a fan of them. I have one off a dash I pulled... It protected it, but it looked like, well, an awkward piece of cloth on top of a dash board. Rob
  17. D44 was not part of the package. The mini console could have been swapped in along with the bench, and currently doesn't even have a shifter in it. I think it's a true elim, but may have led a sorted past. Rob
  18. I'll stand by my number. We don't know the miles, it shows visible rot, an interior that is not stock, the floors are most likely gone, the lift kit is a cheaper brand, I would be on high alert for body work... I see some money in the wheels and tires... That's about it. I'm not saying I would go there and walk up guns blazing, but I would make you knowledge known through conversaton, discuss whay you think are issues and then tell them about what you would do if the truck was yours. Bring an automotively inclined friend, so you remain grounded and don't end up with blinders on. Rob
  19. High, high, high. I'd be shooting for 2500 not knowing the miles and by the condition. I would cite all the modifications from the factory that have been done to it, and make it a point if the original seats/parts are gone. Rob.
  20. The Eliminator Package only came with Buckets, console, and floor shift. I am going to imagine it is a true Elim, because the decals match the age of the truck, and buckets/column shift wouldn't be too hard to swap in. Rob
  21. OEM Brush guard. Rob
  22. If truely is an MJ factory grille guard.. There wouldn't be a place to mount a winch anyway... In the same breath as that though, if it is MJ era... Don't cut it up. I'm sure a member would love a original. Rob
  23. I seriously doubt you could mount a winch to the factory brush guard... I've seen hidden winches in partner with the brush guard, but nothing added to the front of it as an after thought. Rob
  24. That thing is gorgeous. Rob
