  1. Mine was behind the passenger door, with the armrest punched through it. Rob
  2. Holy grave dig batman. Rob
  3. He only gave you one? He must have left me alone with his box because I think I have 10 on the fridge... Rob
  4. http://comancheclub.com/topic/30157-rock-auto-collector-series-58-magnet/?hl=rockauto+magnet&do=findComment&comment=306621
  5. We have a Kenmore, and that thing rocks. Our old one was just that, old, and never did a good job. Never got clean, water spots for days, caked on scale... Angela would end up rewashing most of them. As Marcel said, this one will do the same thing... And if it didn't, it would be pointless. Rob
  6. A salesman told me one of his customers had this at his shop. Guy brought it in because 1st gear was out. Apparently, he has the clutch replaced at another shop, and while they were putting the trans back in, they slammed the shifter with something and damaged the 1st gear syncro. After pulling the trans for the guy and outsourcing the trans work, the guy bailed on the truck. The shop owner finished the work, gave it a once over/oil lube, and put it up for sale to make up his money he had into it when the guy bailed. Decent looking truck, room on the price. The city came by and was giving him some static for the amount of customer cars sitting there. $1600 OBO If you go to see it, let him know where you saw it and mention my name... May grease the wheels for you a bit. Rob
  7. OCD got the best of me and I had to fix it. Rob
  8. Thank you sir! Always good to have the info anyway! Rob
  9. My bad, got excited, and noticed that '96 was 4.0L, and that 1997's like mine had to be equipped with the 2.5L to hit the recall... Aw shucks. Rob
  10. Recently, I had the muffler replaced after dealing with it for 5 months. Not wanting to do it myself, I sent it to a local place, and they did a real nice job. Only thing is, I think the old muffler (which had the pentastar on it still) was hiding a cat rattle. Now that the muffler is quiet, that rattle is driving me nuts. Being a 'thrifty' individual, I have weighed a few options... Gut it, put in a test pipe, and simulator of sorts, or... Just spend the $130 on a new one and have someone burn it on. In my research, I've found that there may be a recall that could get me a new cat, but have no way of running the VIN at this time of night. Can anyone in CC land check and tell me if it's open or I qualify? VL601005 110K Miles Many thanks in advance. Rob
  11. The new "snowboard" style is ugly as hell. No way Jose. Rob
  12. Was looking at a Thule fairing for the XJ, but it's local pickup only on eBay... Just fishing to see if anyone would be able to ship. I would pay you for your time and to ship. Thanks, Rob
  13. Forgot to ask... Did you give them my info for any unused MJ Dizzle parts? Rob
  14. This month we have a member who built a super clean, functional rig, with all the right touches. Enjoy  BLUE88COMANCHE's 1988 JEEP COMANCHE PIONEER MODEL AND YEAR 1988 Pioneer Short Wheel Base ENGINE & PERFORMANCE: Stock 4.0 DRIVETRAIN: AX-15, NP242J, Non-cad Dana 30, MJ Dana 44 COOLING: Stock ELECTRICAL & IGNITION: Stock STEERING: Stock SUSPENSION: Front: 2 inch puck on V-8 ZJ variable rate springs, Rear: Hell Creek Metric Ton 3+2 leaf packs, planning to replace the stock control arms with WJ control arms INTERIOR: Stock Bucket seats, XJ center Console, BRAKES: Mostly stock and 97+ XJ or WJ Brake booster (I don't remember what i used) LIGHTING: stock WHEELS/TIRES: "turbine" style rims with 31x10.5R15 General Grabber AT2 MISCELLANEOUS: Warn Trans4mer Grille Guard, XRC8 winch, A/C that does not work. Best MJ story This took place before I really got into the Jeep thing and the Jeep was 100% stock, and may have been the turning point in the love hate relationship i had with my Comanche. Late one afternoon my youth Minister at the time called me and said that Tom went out in his new wrangler and got stuck, he was leaving and would be arriving to help Tom in about 20 minuets. 20 Minuets later i get a call from him again saying he is now stuck. when I arrive Tom's Wrangler is up to the frame in mud and water, and Steven's WJ Grand Cherokee had the bottom resting on solidish ground and 2 wheels in loose mud.. we dug out some of the mud from around Toms's tires, and i was able to pull him out with my MJ. Some how Steven's Jeep took more work to get him un-stuck. we hooked Tom's TJ to my MJ and used the 2 jeeps to finally free Steven's WJ. It took 4 hours but we all made it out safely and just before dark. What owner loves best about CC What I love about Comanche Club is the wealth of knowledge available, all the inspiring builds and stories. My Grandfather bought my Comanche new, all my uncles asked to have it but the day I got my drivers License it was mine! ------------------------------------------------------------- My oh my... This truck has got to be one of my favorites on the club. Nothing overbuilt, nothing out of place. Just a clean, DD-able rig with some nice touches here and there. That brush guard is almost tailored to fit the boxyness of the MJ, like a resto-mod version of the original that was just flat square steel. The subtle pinstripe, the turbines... Verrrry groovy. I dig it. I know I'm not the only one either. It's great that you got the truck from your grandfather and gave it a second wind... I bet it's great for him to still see it going strong. Congrats on your MJOTM! Enjoy the spotlight! Rob  Click here to view the article
  15. Dunno. I'll check into it more once I get rolling. As you know, I have many more important fish to fry. Rob
  16. I knew it wasn't there based on the limited amount of them, and that one of the few posts I found regarding them it was stated that it comes with an additional harness. Rob
  17. It did. Rob
  18. Yeah, slides right in... The only pain of the thing is that there is no pigtail for it back there... So you have to run the harness from the back corner all the way up to the radio... Rob
  19. It's actually an access door for what I am assuming is the amp for the woofer. Rob
  20. Picked up something new for the XJ today... Rob :brows:
  21. torque, a free OBD II scanner app... Just need to get the bluetooth dongle off ebay for $20, and you are good to go. Also, theChive. Since I know you and Carly like walks, there is a free dog walking app sponsored by Subaru that will track routes, miles walked, climbs in feet, as well as tell you the calories burned. Tons of free photo editors, just google to find the best ones. Rob
  22. Don't cheap out on an internal slave either... Rob
  23. Ben, imagine the heart attack you would have had if this thing passed you going the opposite direction on some highway in MN... Rob :rotf:
  24. While I know relatively little about Honda's... I do know they are a bastard to kill or break a hard part under normal use. I would be looking at the shifter cables and detents as stated. I would first take everything loose from the trans and try shifting it there by hand to see if you could get all gears to drop in. Rob
