  1. Use the belt routing based on the brackets you use. I have 88 brackets on my passenger side and 96+ on my driverside. The later PS arrangement with respect to the belt tensioning is a better lass problematic system IMO. If it were me I would use the '98 intake, convert the fuel rail fittings, and adapt the TPS, and run the '98's PS. (one would also need the '98's throttle cable and either bend the pedal or use the one from the' 98 as well. I just dislike the Renix TB although I do like the Renix MPFI. Then use the '89 alt/A/C. But I likes my punishment. (this is essentially what I did with my '88 except used a '99 intake manifold). Routing would be like so ...
  2. Just GM lowering shackles and Monroe load assist shocks, lifted maybe 3" in the rear and an estimated 2" over 4wd height in the front (so about 3" for a 2wd) with the Moog ZJ V8 coils and a 1" spacer.
  3. No rubbing yet, rims are from a Charger so same bolt pattern. I have ZJ springs and a 1" puck. When I do the 4wd conversion I'll probably go up 1" more at most. Haven't taken it offroad yet, so may find the fronts rub a little, or not. They seem to tuck just right so far. My original plan was to cash in on the JK take off tires, but these came up first. JK tires being 255/70r17 and measure 31.2", these 255/75r17 measure a full 32" When I swap the 3.55 axles I the gearing will be exactly the same as stock 3.07s and 225/70r15s so a good power mix.
  4. That belt diagram has the years wrong. HO 91-95 used a belt routing similar to renix but with a shorter belt. 96 up 4.0L in XJ used the one on the right.
  5. I like it, better that way, it has an ammo crate feel to it. Much better than fancy corners and filligry (sp?).
  6. Aquaculture Seasite manager - meaning I pretty much do it all, equipment service to field (well not so much field, since I'm on the ocean) repairs, manage my crew and do bull labour. Been doing this for the last 20 yrs, after leaving the army (infantry) in '94. Basicly I farm fish for a living. Then go home and Jeep for my days off.
  7. If you have a bolted seam running front to back ... You have a Peugeot.
  8. Switchover year was 89 you have the Peugeot BA10/5 ... If you don't treat it like a Ferrari, or generally abuse the trans, it'll live a while.
  9. Well, finished the passenger side vent window swap, good thing as the lower pivot snapped during removal. Also finished the mechanical oil pressure Guage install, my stock Guage is little better than an idiot light it seems, reads in 20psi increments. And swapped the summer boots on ... 255/75r17 on charger 2325's. Picked the rims up a few months back for $150 and the tires just yesterday for $120 plus $80 to swap the old tires off the rims and balance. Not bad in my opinion. Might paint the rims either semi gloss black or a graphite, not sure. Yeah I know the gauge background looks ghetto, I'm working on it, this was just to get it done for now since I have to head for work tonight. If the trucks stays white, the wheels go black. If I paint it blue, then graphite is the winner.
  10. Awesome news, finally a replacement. Mine fell apart long ago.
  11. Worked on the truck today ... Swapped in the 90 XJ PCM ... Kicked my idle up to just under 1000rpm. Swapped the driver side vent window for a solid one, added an oil pressure Guage to the right side switch panel, just need to hook it up now.
  12. Not unless you optioned them, or added them. They were standard in a Cherokee but not on a Comanche.
  13. Two pair please ... Shipped to the frozen wastes of Canada ... Oh, wait ... I'm on the west coast. Gonna be a sun, sun, sun Shiney day!
  14. I replaced mine with some GM fittings from the local parts store. Better clip, better fitting. They were only $5 or so each, and can be had in different angles as well (good for me as my rail is from a 94 now).
  15. If you need a radio, just so happens the 92 parts XJ has a quality stock cassette deck. PM me and I'll add the plug and pigtail for it. Just cover shipping.
  16. A new one can be found in the 'HELP' section of most parts stores, or dang near any GM vehicle from the 70's (earlier?) to the mid 90's or so
  17. Yeah that's what I was thinking as well. All the other guages are the same, just need to change the plug for the main Guage connection over.
  18. I'm just gonna guess no one's tried this one yet either. Well, time to start reading again I guess.
  19. Just an update, another 1000km's with zero issues and a better idle. Going to start looking for these when I JY crawl now. Just to clarify, the only modification needed is to re-arrange the wires in the stock plug. Simple as that. I still have my renix TB I can mount one to and snap a pick if anyone is remotely curious.
  20. Anyone know a source for the steel trim on the bottom of the vent Windows? Mine are rusted to crap and I either replace them, or swap out the vents for a solid panel from the 92 parts XJ. But I like my vent Windows, call me weird.
  21. Just scored the ECM and engine bay wiring from a 90 XJ, so now to remove the unneeded bits. It was from an auto so there is a fair bit of fluff the truck doesn't need. Getting it out was ... Well ... Rough. How do you get the bulkhead connector through that small hole? We just cut the core support where needed. Not gonna wanna do that to get it back in though.
  22. Probably the euramtic ones. All over eBay and here in the classifieds. Mine were hacked to death by the PO. I put LEDs into mine, only issue I have now is the slight voltage bleed makes the LEDs light when the door switches get wet. Regular incandescents wouldn't have enough voltage to light. I'm going to look at modding mine so the up position is off to solve it.
  23. The stock pipe on my 88 was 2.25" from the down pipe going past the trans My 00 XJ uses a stock 99 downpipe which was 2.25" to the trans crossover where it widens to 2.5" to the tailpipe.
  24. Power steering pump/bracket would either need to be modified slightly or the manifold and brackets swapped. The 96 up used a different mounting arrangement. But yes it will still work. Using the later pump would require a different belt if using the later brackets. The later pump has pass through bolt mounts, the earlier 88 pump is threaded. Easy enough to convert, although the later adjuster is far less problematic.
