I'm not sure about the lift gate. but I'm pretty sure the light won't, as the 88 are square and the 97 are rounded

I spent 500$ on mine MJ, plus another 350$ for the parts XJ. Plus a few other odds and ends so maybe a little over 1000$?

This was actually on my DD, and finding a tank for that shouldn't be that bad either.
-
Thanks, I'll see if I can find any at the auto part stores around town.
-
I'm gonna try to patch the tank tomorrow, and to PFCLleist that's probably a good idea of checking those too.

So last night I was DDing for a friend. we got to the house party small one with like 5 people, we get there leave like 4.5 to 5 hour later I go to start my truck and it says the gauge is empty, so I step out and noticed a huge puddle under my truck, anyway some deadbeat low-life drilled a hole in my tank, they didn't even take the gas, they just let it all spill on the ground all 70L of a freshly filled tank > :(

2 Wheel Drive To 4 Wheel Drive Conversion
Wiggilez replied to redwolf624's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have a 2.8 4x4 ax-5 and 207 transfer case, but its probably not coming out till next summer. that probably doesn't help unless your willing to wait a year then willing to pay shipping from Canada to the us. -
If I had the spare cash to buy this, I'd probably go with the 360 then try to find a manual 5.9 Dakota or ram 1500 for it trans and hope that the bolt pattern hasn't changed in 30 years :P

Sometimes I like to surf Kijiji in the early hours of the morning and I find things like this http://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/edmonton/1971-amc-hornet-sst/1007835072?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true Which make me wish a had extra monies and my own place to store all the cars I want.

what about a shifter knob of a newer AX-15, the one in my dakota has held up for 16 years so far. (not my truck but same gear shift.) I find it to pretty comfortable.

I like the badge.

I tend throw the odd piece of garbage in my own truck, but never had anyone else throw junk in my trucks.

I'm curious, did they keep it unibody, or did the swap it on to the ranger frame?

best part of that Cop "you know what you are to us without a valid license?" Me "No, what?' Cop "An 11 year old girl" that was worth a quick laugh.
-
He saw me riding, just happen to be right there as I was coming out of the alley. as for what I got ticketed, turns out my drivers licence expired... yeah.
-
I remember reading somewhere that not all vac lines are needed on the 2.8l, and that some of them can be bypassed without affecting how the truck runs. Also mine is as you describe except with close to 20 years and 350xxxkm of abuse as a farm truck.

Like I said, they were really cool about. Which makes it a lot better, then having to deal with a guy who's being a fool, which most of the ones I've to deal with here are.

uugggg, I'm jealous of your trucks strait and cleanliness.

So I live in a fairly big city. (just shy of 1 mil I think) but the usual practice for me when I go dirt biking is go home unload, put away, ride bike to car wash to clean bike, ride back and put it away. the car wash is only two blocks away, and I usually ride trough the alleys. There is a part where I have to cross a road, but that part I walk (kind of like a bike) anyway today right as I was exiting the ally to cross the road there as a cop, he gave me the look so I got pulled over and he gave me a ticket, only 115$ plus he was really polite which is rare where I live, so it wasn't to bad, I just feel like an idiot form something that was easily avoidable. Anyone with a similar story?
