  1. There's lots of good stock spec and modification info on the DIY Projects page. Its like the MJ University. Start with all the pinned topics, tons of good info.
  2. Studdable MTs would be fine, but studded ATs or any other winter tire with lots of edges would be better. Ice is ice, doesn't matter what you have, if you hit the brakes too hard, you're gonna slide. When I lived in Fairbanks, I ran a set of siped 30"x9"x15" BFG ATs on an XJ. I took it just shy of DeadHorse in late October on a Caribou hunt, went up Atigun Pass without a problem. Great tires all year around. If I were living up there now or anywhere there's ice on the roads all fall/winter/spring, then I'd have a spare set of studded winter tires and some chains in the back just in case,,,,even though I despise chains. Carry a bunch of sand bags in the bed of the truck too, a couple hundred pounds. I agree with the above post. The walnut embedded Treadwright ATs are probably worth a look.
  3. I see 258s on on CL all the time from CJ and YJ guys swapping in v8s.
  4. If you're battery and cables are good, and the engine ground is good, I'd take a look at the ignition switch. Not the key switch, the ignition switch is on the steering column at the base under the dash. There's a long rod that pushes the switch when the key is turned. Easy fix.
  5. Classic!
  6. You are my hero! Not only did I get the wheels and tires, I got the complete 5.9 ZJ interior, seats door panels, computer and engine/tranny/TC too!
  7. Nice pic!!!
  8. :agree: Silverstars all day long,,,,just picked up a set of five yesterday.
  9. I want one for OBD I (renix) not that its really needed though. All the MAC 2500s I've found online have been way too expensive. It would be nice to have it on the iphone.
  10. Napa is always the first choice for me, after that, it doesn't matter.
  11. Woman named "Jeep", classic,,,this is why I never let women close to my MJ. I never know if I'll see em again, either they steal the MJ or are too scared to ever come back. Jim, I hope you catch that scoundrel lady of the night.
  12. I don't know why the old search got so much complaints, it always worked great for me. But I have to say the new search honestly seems to be a bit more finicky.
  13. nice truck!
  14. Nice, I like the site.
  15. Got em from JCR, front and rear bumpers too. Not sure if they still offer them. I believe they were MJ specific. I know they don't offer rear bumpers anymore.
  16. '28, '29?
  17. All future inquiries about warning points will result in 1.333 warning points given. Don't ask how 1.333 was determined, I used a very complicated algorithm and you won't understand it, neither did I.
  18. No worries about a unit bearing flying apart and your wheel vacating the vehicle. Well some worries, but much less.
  19. I'm talking about routinely hauling 500-1000lbs in the back (or approximately 75 cases of beer or two full whiskey barrels) , just not a job for the XJ. One of the reasons MJs are sprung under.
  20. I posted pics, I thought it was easier. No more img tags, just copy and paste the image location in the pop up box. I'm using Flikr to host images.
  21. I need a grey bench seat though, one like Dadinator has in his truck with the cutout for the small console. http://comancheclub.com/topic/26085-the-family-truck-lots-of-new-pics-on-page-4/page__st__40
  22. That lift set up looks like its welded on, now you'll have to go cut a set of stock bump stop extenders and weld those on so you can get some full length springs in. How does it ride with the current set up, looks like it would be rough to me.
  23. Nice, I need to do this on mine. Where did you get the hub conversion kit and how much did it set you back?
  24. Nice work! :MJ 1:
