1. Congrats on the well deserved MJOTM!
2. When I picked up my 86, it had a bed liner and topper on it. When I pulled both, the inner bed looked brand new and glossy while the bedsides and tailgate were rusted out. The truck must have had the topper and liner installed when it was new.
3. Post some pics and specs of that SRT8. Here at CC we love to see all Jeeps.
4. Hey, welcome to the club. You have found the best MJ resource online. Beware, we like to help you spend your money!
5. Welcome from an '86 2.5 owner!
6. Sounds like you are on the right path regarding the 97+ firewall modifications. Agreed.
7. Wrap in foil, bake @ 200, 400, 600 respectively, and allow 30 minutes cooling between temperatures.... Since my wife made it clear the kitchen oven was not to be used for cooking automotive parts, I had to build an oven. Temperature monitoring via BBQ thermometer Image Not Found After trying to find the correct manifold gasket for my 99 head, the Pace Setter has found its home. I ended up with a Felpro gasket intended for a '95 XJ. The intake and exhaust ports were way off on the two gaskets I picked up for a '99. *sorry about the terrible picture quality of this post!
8. My advice: Drive your truck to an OPEN, EMPTY, slick parking lot. Put the truck into various slides. Brake/wheel spin/turning. Learn how to recover from these and how the truck will react with various inputs. I ALWAYS force an unfamiliar car into a slide/skid prior to tackling the streets. Every vehicle responds differently. I would much rather be driving my lifted TJ on slick roads than my mostly stock MJ because I am more comfortable behind the wheel, 10 years comfortable. Plus, the MJ sucks in 2wd on ice.
9. If the shift plate doesn't fit the console, it won't do me any good. I imagine it should fit, but you can never be too sure with AMC/Chrysler.
10. Color doesn't matter.
If you can, check to see if that AW4 plate will fit in the console. I haven't been able to confirm if the automatic and manual consoles are the same. If it fits, I'll buy it.
11. I am looking for a mini/half console for my truck. The mini console I am looking for wraps around the AW4 shifter and T-case shifter only. No cup holders or anything. Color doesn't matter. I am not sure what type of vehicles these came in, but I know my folks' 93 XJ has one. Heck, if you want to sell the AW4 shift plate, I'll buy that too! Thanks!
12. Size? Picture? Vinyl cut or decal? If small and vinyl cut, I'd be interested in a few.
13. Nope. Received a refund today from APW with no explanation attached.

Ah dang.
14. I still haven't heard from APW regarding my order. Maybe the high gear ratio D44 carrier wasn't as popular? Or maybe they just haven't gotten around to contacting me yet.
15. If I happen to find a lot of spare time and get my TJ's rear axle brackets welded in place, I will be there. Don't want to risk driving the 86 that far with ball joints and unit bearings that need replaced.
16. I like it, a lot. Those trucks like to rust out their rockers and cab corners worse than MJ's. Yours looks solid!
17. I have been following this ARB topic all day.... Sooooo tempting. But I would need two... Two RD117's for my 44's.... But for 1/2 price, how could I miss this opportunity? Edit - Have one on the way
18. Piece of cake. A couple bolts, a clip and the hose fitting. Done.
19. Nothing wrong with running synthetic in a new motor. I run Mobil 1 high mileage 10w-30 in all of my 4.0's, regardless of mileage. It meets ACEA A3 rating which has antiwear properties like ZDDP. I rebuilt my TJ 4.0 110k miles ago and have been running the Mobile 1 High Mileage since break-in. It still the smoothest, most quiet 4.0 I have ever come across.
20. Nothing wrong with wheeling a stock long bed!
21. The cab (roof, B-pillar, back wall and inner door) has been coated with Fatmat, a Dynamat alternative. I will NOT apply that stuff to the floor. I just don't feel right about doing it to a clean floor. My floor insulation plans are a jute padding and a foil backed insulation. Then I built brackets so that I could securely fasten a RB1 radio in this truck RB1 installed with Ebay 82207541AB 82207541AC Factory Radio Stereo Installation Wire Harness Converter. $10 from ebay vs. $75 from Mopar.... Installing this radio, or one shaped like it, will require some bezel trimming. I will trim an extra bezel I have, then fill/sand/paint the bezel so it fits like it should. In order for the navigation to work, I will need to feed it a PCI BUS signal. This can be accomplished by piggy-backing a 02+ TJ/WJ PCM and sending the RB1 a PCI BUS signal, like this guy on Jeep Forum did. I will actually place the extra PCM under the dash. I also stripped the Pacesetter header Then primed and painted in the official 'parts paint booth'. Next step is baking it in the kitchen oven!
22. Yup! Even if not used as a donor, it could probably be flipped or parted for a nice lump of $$$.
23. Looking forward to this build. I can't believe how clean that truck is...besides the burn marks ;) Agreed! :rotf:
24. That bearing has been discontinued by NSK according to my local Motion Industries. Pressing the bearing out was real easy, finding a replacement has been impossible.
25. Welcome to the Club, Ryan. That 'never leave well enough alone' attitude will suit your MJ perfectly.
