No real help, but I did buy a rust free longbed and cab corners from a guy in AR for $300. He cut the corners out with a plasma cutter. Be sure to request 3x more metal than you think you'll need. I bet that rust creeps up further than you anticipate.

The motor is 90% buttoned up. I found an AC compressor bracket with a good fan pulley bearing, so locating a replacement bearing is on the back burner for now. All that remains is stripping the PaceSetter header and applying high temp paint then install said header. I also need to purchase new injectors. I cleaned up the engine bay harness and installed it. Realized I failed to drill the washer fluid reservoir and PCM holes, so I got that squared away. Then I discovered the latch on the PDC cover is busted. Time to find a replacement. After fighting with the HVAC box for what seemed like ever I finally got it installed in the truck. New foam seals, new evaporator core and new heater core. Oh, and it is void of all rodent stench! The dash would be installed, but I managed to loose the bolts and nut clips for the top of the dash mount......

That is slick. Especially for the person who carries all of their keys around. Seems like too much bulk and weight for me. I only carry the keys needed to operate the vehicle I'm driving, usually 2 keys + keyring. House key stays in my wallet unless the garage door doesn't open for some reason.

In the 10 years I've been using photobucket, I can only think of two times when I was unable to upload or access my media. Maybe I've just been lucky. Their newest phone app sucks though. It doesn't provide any organization for the pictures in albums. Maddening when you have nearly 300 pics in an album.

Is There A Comanche Club Iphone App?
87Warrior replied to CIARA's topic in Forum Issues, Ideas, Testing
Comanche Club works with TapaTalk  -
Bornindesert - There is absolutely no way the Chevy drop shackles would lift a truck 3-4". I think your lift came from the springs. The (shackle length/2) doesn't work for the MJ since the axle sits forward of center on the leaf spring, it is actually a bit less. 2" Chevy Drop shackle vs Stock MJ shackle

86 2.5 Periodically Runs Poor
87Warrior replied to 87Warrior's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yup, but the Chrysler MPI 2.5 doesn't have the heated manifold. The truck has been running fine for awhile now, even at -5. I did get the temp gauge working and it seems to sit around 190, though is a bit sluggish. Probably due to the parts store tstat. To be replaced when I replace the water pump that occasionally weeps. -

Great start on the truck! She looks pretty solid. -
Shimmy Into Death Wobble

Trackbar Control Arms These are where I start when a wobble sets in on any of my Jeeps. -
I suspect I got right around 2" of lift, but cannot give a true report since I did not measure beforehand. The drop shackles in the rear and 2" spacers up front got it sitting pretty darn level. I opted to try out the AutoZone budget lift on my 86 with 235 (30") tires to get a little more belly clearance. - 2" pucks - YJ or Chevy 1500 front brake lines - Rear Chevy drop shackles Before After The front springs on this truck are well worn, so it has a little more rake than I'd like.

Windshield Rubber Molding And Rear Slider Molding
87Warrior replied to RockMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Even though your slider may be shot, you can still remove the gasket and save it. The rear gasket simply fits around the glass and can be removed with rear window/slider still in place, especially if the glass is factory. -
Yup. Those will work. Heck, they might be the same thing I got from AutoZone.

97+'ers, Help Me Remember.....
87Warrior replied to 87Warrior's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks  I do have a white foam gasket that fits between the firewall and the booster. It just been so long since I took the XJ apart that I couldn't recall if there was as gasket on the inside and my record pictures were no help. Sounds like I haven't misplaced anything...yet :rotfl2: -
For those who have done the 97+ conversion, these questions are for you. It has been a LONG time (about 3 years) since I tore down the donor XJ and am having some memory issues..... Is there a gasket that fits between the brake pedal bracket and firewall where the booster bolts come into the cab? I am working on getting my truck put together and can't quite remember if there is a gasket or if the pedal bracket contacts the firewall.

I would wager to say the 86-90 Renix TBI is electronic fuel injection. It certainly isn't mechanical fuel injection like you would find on a 50's Vette. I suspect you are actually referring to the 91+ Chrysler multi-port fuel injection.

January, 2014 - Alexia's '87 Sportruck

What a great way to start off the new year. Congrats! -
Make sure you pick up the deepest deep well socket you can find for those head bolts. It took me a couple of tries to find one that slid all the way to the flange surface.

That is some clean fabrication!

I participate in a Secret Santa on another small forum I am a member of. It is a whole lot of fun and through the years only a few members have been burned by a Dead Beat Santa. This year I did very well! Image Not Found I could see it working well here at CC..... The only fabrication I have done for folks this season has been in the form of homemade beef jerky and carmel popcorn.

Possible Axle Upgrade Ft And Rr
87Warrior replied to Me&my86MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That 44 looks like it is sitting upside down, meaning it would be a low pinion passenger side drop. I wasn't aware that a one ton would have a 44 front axle either. -
I have had a day like that...once.

Front 3" Spacer Lift & Rear Shackels
87Warrior replied to Hotrocks's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You will need either swaybar disconnects designated for your lift height or extended swaybar links designated for your lift height.
