  1. 2wd......signature...... But his response is so sketchy you can't tell .....REDDOG......were do you have a CV joint?
  2. So......did you get them changed......or was this another of your troll posts?? :shake:
  3. He is a quick learner......look how he wears his skates at the game after the fall.... http://sports.nationalpost.com/2014/10/12/anthem-singer-who-fell-during-o-canada-performance-pokes-fun-at-himself-at-vancouver-canucks-game/
  4. Befre this goes to far.....watch this YES IT IS NOT AN MJ......the procedure is the same now watch it again
  5.
  6. This is correct i have TJ fronts in one of my XJ's right now.
  7. Big Thumbs up to you my friend  Any of the previous posters who say that this is "Ugly".....shows their ignorance at your find.... a (SO FAR) 1 OF A KIND FACTORY BUILT MJ....and they say ugly..... for the posters who said negative....post a pic of that piece of junk MJ you have in your driveway beside this one and we will all vote..... as far as Comanche's go this ranks up there with Yenko or a Shelby........You are a lucky man to own this truck.
  8. Just a question....you say the pump squeaks....does it leak???? a pump leaks out of a drain hole at the bottom when done...... A squeak could be a blown idler pulley or just a loose belt........just a thought.
  9. 2 simple tests......shift it into 2wd.......drive till you are doing 20 mph.....take a tach reading Shift into 4WL....drive to 20 mph....take a tach reading......is it different? If not your stuck in low. Since it is a project....do some maintenance and answer your question at the same time......go get some diff lube...jack the rear up .....put it on stands....take off the diff cover ......rotate the diff until you can see the numbers stamped on the large gear.........post the numbers. (you divide the bigger by the smaller to get the ratio).....put the cover back on and lube up with the new gear lube.....now you know your actual ratio and that you have good lube in the rear end.
  10. Sad that the best advice i can give is how to B & E......I guess the 1 wire hot wire would be going to far ...............or maybe that is why someone got rich inventing immobilizers....
  11. YA....what he said.....................................but I could have rebuilt your whole truck( red dog) in the time it would have taken me to type what gogmorgo just did ....     WHATS NEXT......................................................................
  12. If you get this idler set up (off a 2000 wrangler no air) ....i think you will get the result you want. But you will probably have to get the same era belt yours will not fit............... But there are more ways than this to do what you want......if you can look back at old 4.2.s they had the Alt up high on the left
  13. You need to get a hold of one of these
  14. Well by rights it is the same block.....if you had the factory parts there should be no fab needed
  15. Why do you waste time posting and asking questions...over and over again.....you do not want help.....you just want a post count.....I would offer a cash reward for any member who can find one of your posts were there was a resolution (proven) to the original question you posted post.... :shake:
  16. Check for TJ as well....I think they would be the same ....and probably easier for you to get....Google some pics and you will get some idea's
  17. Take a moment and Google the YJ 4L set up......I do not have a pic but my YJ alt (HO 4L) is (when viewed from the front) on the upper left hand side of the motor.....same spot as the AC or idler pulley in my XJ's.......better spot IMHO if you do not have AC......easier to work on and keeps it out of the water when you decide to take a swim
  18. The frame (subframe) has separated from the upper body.....your 2wd crossmember is under the cab.....if it was all still structurally correct it would not move...a pc would help....do you have a lot of rust?
  19. I wouldn't trust him either.....those Canadian's are all SHYSTERS......he will probably ship you real hockey sticks to stick on the side of your MJ.....they are on every street corner up there.... :wavey: :Canadaflag:
  20. I finally took some pics so here is a couple of “homemade helpers” The first is a press I made from scratch in school years ago. My instructor had a rule that if you could draw it (both isometric projection and exploded) and utilize just the steel donated to the school (scraps from local manufactures) you could make it and take it home. Here is my take on a shop press…..similar to many you have seen…the only real difference is I fabricated a head, out of 3/8” just like they have on large mechanical breaks so I could use regular break dies. I have pipe dies for it as well. Right now it is just a 20T hydraulic……but that will be replaced by a duel air over hydraulic soon. The only “pre formed” piece on the whole press is the bed (40” of 6x6 I-beam)…everything else is formed out of 10 gauge AR steel. And for any of you fabricator’s out there…..here is my chance to brag a bit…. Like I said the body is entirely 10 Gauge…this is where calculating bend allowances is taken to the max…..so when you look at the side rails look closely at the hole….it is not ¼” but double 10 gauge…..may not mean much to some until you realize I laid out all 4 side pieces as flat stock…..pre-punched the holes…then bent them into u channels…...then slid one inside the other……. the holes lined up (thankfully) and making it look like one piece of ¼” …….you can see the seam in the hole here. The next is more of an assistant than a tool….I have had a little flat deck that I use to get parts (diffs, Trans, T-cases, Motors, etc.) It saves having to take the topper off the MJ, or I can pull it with one of the Wranglers or XJ’s. The bad part was needing a helper all the time to lift on and off….I had been giving a good long look at modifying the head of my engine hoist to have it bolt on when I can across this virtually new little crane on a local website……picked it up for $40 cash (that included the hydraulic you see…originally it had a hand operated cable winch) added a ATV winch with a pillow block, Onboard battery….ready to rock. I can use the winch to pull it closer ( or out of the brush) as well as load and unload easy. Since the pics were taken I not only gave the trailer a new coat of paint but I added 2 pipe connectors (one on either side of the frame) that allow me to use a little flip up trailer jack to stabilize it a bit better.
  21. Maybe your cat is plugged? I run Magnaflow
  22. Cut to the chase......what does buddy want? everybody's opinion will change depending on the $$$$
  23. I just texted that to a blond........different topic though..... :dunno:
  24. Saw an ad for an MJ figured I would take a drive by and have a look….Have done enough drive by estimates to know what I am looking for and even from the road I could see that unfortunately she was so rusted out there would be little hope of regaining the asking price even by parting it out (the only thing of value I could see was the rear slider)……but as I rolled by something caught my eye….what?......leaf springs?.....what? So long story short if you have a YJ that has undergone a spring over lift…..and you roll it so it is not drivable you take the front suspension as well as about 18 inches of the front frame were the leaf shackles are…..You stick the rear of the leaf in the lower control arm pocket….you fish plate the section of the YJ front frame directly over the MJ frame…..and presto change….you have a spring over axle front and rear. :dunno: . :MJ 1: .
  25. This has been posted before....it might help you http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/budget-builds-what-junkyard-parts-will-fit-xj-847303/
